It’s been a long fuckin’ time. this is the thread where no one voice matters over another. Here we go.

1.How Nationalist are you? at what point would you be willing to take another mans life in order to preserve our imperfect union?

2. Do you honestly value certain human lives over others?

3. What do you think it would take for the human species to come together as a race?

4. Do you value technology and innovation over happiness? Or are they intertwined?

5. Bonus: don’t hafta answer:  Where do you see us as a race in a 100 years?

1. I have fairly close to zero nationalistic tendencies. I basically feel like the US is a disaster and I hold no allegiance to it as a concept or a people beyond preserving my own homeostasis.

2. The people in my life are valued more than the people not in my life, but only by sheer selfishness on my part. In relation to the first question, a dead Syrian carries as much weight on my soul as a dead New Yorker.

3. I don’t think we can, honestly. We’d have to eliminate borders which is impractical with the way we understand culture and laws. We’d have to eliminate capitalism and move further into the global tribe mindset, but I don’t know if it will ever truly succeed.

4. I don’t really see them as intertwined or mutually exclusive. Technology is a tool which we use to many different ends and happiness is a fleeting emotion we carry with us as we move through our lives. They are both dynamic and work independently of the other.

5. Basically the same as we are now but with cooler technology. We might eventually have computers in our brains. I think the next big technological development will be in the bio tech world which takes computers and puts them in biological life forms (plants and animals) which will eventually include humans.

Dude, I really want to comment on this but I wanna make sure others put their two cents in before I go all out with my answers. For the most part though, I definitely agree with you. I’ll hafta fullly answer all the questions sometime tomorrow afternoon. I gotta say though, interesting as fuck so far with only one answer. I think this is gonna be a good one.

1. hard for my to say, being an aussie. would i kill a man to preserve australia? nope. would i kill a man to preserve myself? definitely. i would torture them prior to death aswell if i thought it would help. would i kill a man to preserve my family? yep. no question.

2. agree with rob kinda. except mine is mostly apathy. if it aint directly concerning me (friends/close family) i dont particularly care. you could wipe out all of africa, and i would be like ‘oh shit, well that happened. i suppose the murder rate worldwide will drop now, cant be all bad.”

3. Nope. never going to happen. we are a virus, we move into a place and destroy it. never gunna happen. thers always gunna be a few groups who will go against the greater good.

4. i definitely agree with rob, techology is a tool. i use it, but i couldnt say there is a direct relation to its use and my happiness.

5. about the same as we are now only slightly more technologically advanced than we are now. 100 years is not very long in the grand scheme of things. 1000 years, we’ll all be dead. the human race is slowly eating itself. but the earth will survive, so the damn hippies will be happy.

this is really two separate questions.

1a – not especially.  a lil bit.

1b –  difficult to say.  comes down to what constitutes ‘preserving’ it.

2. Do you honestly value certain human lives over others?

yeah.

but it aint quite the gulf you might expect.

3. What do you think it would take for the human species to come together as a race?

if i had even an inkling, idve already collected my nobel prize by now.

4. Do you value technology and innovation over happiness? Or are they intertwined?

no.  and, no way.

5. Bonus: don’t hafta answer:  Where do you see us as a race in a 100 years?

like to think wed be workin on gettin off-planet by then, but who knows?

  awfully paranoid, arent you?

shortest answers….

1.) No, I am not. It is all imaginary borders and phony ownerships. No one owns anything but their bodies. I would kill a man over many, many things, as I feel there are endless amounts of worthless scum out there. People, for the most part, are not good intentioned.

2.) My small family takes a humongous place over the rest, in my mind, for value.

3.) Psychedelic relics legalized, administered personally and/or with a caring sitter (friend, psychotherapist, lover, shaman, etc) to help guide us and/or heal the harsh realities that we know of. Basically, mass consumption of natural herbs and medicines, to each individual at the appropriate degree. We could become just peaceful enough to shift our focuses on the more important and exciting things, like eliminating disease, dealing better with death, exploring the cosmos and our oceans, our inner crust of Earth, and our own brains. Something like that.

4.) No. They are intertwined for some folks. Say the man that could never see or lost his sight, one day is affitted with a mechanical eyeball that lets him see the wonders and the horrors of life. That does, in effect, bring happiness through technology.

5.) There is no way to tell. I have no way to predict. Peep the new Deltron 3030 album, “Event 2” for their vision about life on Earth far into the future.

Fuck Nations, I would never take someones life to preserve this nation…Thats akin to murdering someone to defend the overweight bully that collects a percentage of your lunch money every year so you can live on his playground…but only if you play the way he tells you too or he will lock you in the jungle gym and make you make cheap office furniture that gets sold at a huge markup…

2. Do you honestly value certain human lives over others?

Id kill anyone living if they meant harm to the people close to me, so yes I do value those close to me over everyone else.

3. What do you think it would take for the human species to come together as a race?

Id say mutual extinction but honestly we’d be more likely to cannibalize ourselves then come together.

4. Do you value technology and innovation over happiness? Or are they intertwined?
Technology is a tool that helps us get to happiness but cannot itself be happiness because its too hollow.  Technology is only as useful as you make it…

5. Bonus: don’t hafta answer:  Where do you see us as a race in a 100 years?

@old-mr-dangerous – i like the thought of legalizing psychedelic relics, but it just wouldnt work. some people just aint gunnna do it becuase its legal.

and there would also be the group of people there to monetize and abuse the whole thing.

1.How Nationalist are you? at what point would you be willing to take another mans life in order to preserve our imperfect union?

Only slightly. People say fuck borders until people want to build stupid shit on their lawn. Then they will draw a border around their house and say, “this is my yard, don’t build stupid shit on my yard”. I understand the importance of government and the importance of having different governments in different places to match their beliefs and their views. I’m not nationalist in the sense that I will kick your ass for burning a flag. I’m nationalist in the sense that I will burn my flag to show my disgust for what has become. I’m nationalist in the sense that when things head south I will not flee, I will suffer through the consequences. I’m not exactly proud to be American though, I’m just grateful to be American. I would kill the people that endanger or harm this country, unless I considered the harm to be justified.

2. Do you honestly value certain human lives over others?

Of course I do.

3. What do you think it would take for the human species to come together as a race?

Tolerance, and the pursuit of truth. People will delude themselves into believing something because the care more about not being wrong than actually being right. Then they will show hostility towards those that don’t believe in the same delusion. There is no empathy, no ability to see with other perspectives with that way of thinking.

4. Do you value technology and innovation over happiness? Or are they intertwined?

Of course I value happiness, but for a lot of people they are intertwined. Somebody who suffers through chronic pain and thins like that have their happiness decayed by it. Innovative technological advances can kill that pain and bring them happiness.

5. Bonus: don’t hafta answer:  Where do you see us as a race in a 100 years?

I don’t know. I don’t think people could have predicted what inventions would be created. They thought our planet would be covered in huge towers and flying cars by now. But they never once showed us having social media or even portable music players. That’s what I think, same humans with new ground breaking technology that looks nothing like we thought. New cures with new diseases. New solutions with new problems. New answers with new questions. I’m surprisingly not as pessimistic as others here. I don’t think we are going to let each other kill ourselves with war. I think natural disaster or pollution is more likely to kill us than war.

basically we just need a consciousness paradigm shift. Psilocybin, DMT, mescaline, to a lesser extent cannabis, and even MDMA have profound potential to alter our hive mind.

There is so much exploring to do.

These used to be the best threads out there. Just saying. Now hardly anybody contributes. That disappoints me.
