Has anybody here heard of or into the band Dope? They recently came through Pittsburgh for the first time in 5 years not to long ago. They have been and were friends/tour buddies with Wayne Static before his death. The reason I ask if ya'll have heard or listen to them is because at the show Edsel Dope (the lead singer) mentioned we looked like a very "Juggalo friendly" crowd. My buddy and I looked at each other laughed and cheered. Surprisingly enough the majority also cheered. Also ironically we seen a dude that I feel I've watched grow up through the psychopathic concerts we attend. I think that Dope would be the perfect token main stage metal band this year. Or..... Since we are generally an alternative metal rap fan base (don't kill me if you aren't in that generalization) we can/should have a Metal stage.

Always been a huge fan of Dope, only seen them live three times I think. Twice with Mushroomhead headlining, once at an Ozzfest way way back. They put on a great live show, in my opinion. And yes, they've been Juggalo-friendly for quite some time. Sat and drank a few beers with Edsel after their set at one of the Mushroomhead shows, he's a remarkably down to earth dude.

"Die MF Die" has always been one of my favorite songs to get hyped to.

Dope and Mushroomhead toured together in my area for quite a while a bit back there too...it was always a good time and usually cheap too...I liked those shows...They were always down to kick it after the shows...

Oh yeah, both bands (MRH not so much anymore, but earlier in their career) were always good for a great afterparty

All I know is that "Die MF Die" was my shit, and they made me chuckle on the Mushroomhead Vol. 1 DVD.

I forgot about that on MRHV1... For those who don't know, on one of their tours, they had a habit of invading each others performances. If I remember right, didn't MRH come out during one of Dope's sets completely naked? Or do I have that backwards? It wasn't just those two bands invading each other, either, it turned into a game of one-upmanship among all the bands on the tour. It resulted in some really funny stuff. A lot of which is on the DVD, but some you'll have to hunt on youtube for.

I think it was the jeckel brothers tour they were on. the lead singer mooned the crowd at the end, cheeks spread and a spotlight on him.

they did a GOTJ, like 2003 or 2004 (?)... they werent exemplary but i recall enjoying them because some metal was refreshing after an overload of wicked shit, horrorcore, and various rap for multiple days.

i got photos of them and autographs... not sure why but it happened lol.. they were cool guys.
