Who’s Brooke Bufford?
The band Rehab used to be just two white dudes from Warner-Robbins, GA: Danny Boone and Brooks Buford. Just two dudes who met in a drug rehabilitation center and bonded over their love of hip hop, rock, music in general, rapping and drug/alcohol abuse. As the legend goes, anyway.
They had a falling out and Danny continued with Rehab, expanding into a live outfit. They’ve released great music overall (there’s been some misfires, mostly due to label snake pressure), but the consensus among 90% of Rehab heads is that nothing will ever be as satisfying as just ol Danny and Brooks rapping over beats. They really had something special going on during their first few albums.
They’re like a Southern Twiztid. But with more focus on despair, drug problems, and sung choruses than Twiztid, and less focus on murder, weed, and the supernatural. Although there were touches here and there.
Even if you were just joking, I felt the need to post that because they are a very important part of how certain things happened in my life. It offends the shit out of me if Brooks really was being an ass to the guy just for being a juggalo. Hopefully not.

Brooks was one third of the original rehab. He danny boone and steaknife made up the original rehab group when brooks and boone met in rehab and bonded over music and shit. They had small success with southern discomfort which was the second album they released. Steaknife was in jail and was unable to participate in touring due to this. Danny and brooks had a falling out which is still not clear on what caused this, during the recording of cuzwecan. Some speculate this was due to the mixing of rap and rock. Hence the title of the first song of brooks first solo. Matters between the two worsen when the unreleased cuts from the album were released by brooks him self. These songs differed then the released ones and included others not on cuzwecan. As well as a not to subtle diss track being released by brooks. Years later they reunited with steaknife for a album as a group called southern discomfort but labels would not allow these tracks to be released and steaknife instructed fans to get them off the MySpace before they were forced down off the site. Several of these tracks were remade minus brooks and at this point they have not worked together again.
I would also link to address the hardcore fans not liking rehab after brooks left. This is not true as I and many other fans still support the band and respect the different styles each record has from track to track. Some of the best music they made was after brooks left. The fact is label pressure made the song sitting at a bar be released a shit ton and the reason for the third remake on the grafetti the worlds reissue was caused because danny was not getting paid from the previous label re release of southern discomfort.hence the third remake being called the bartender song

Just saw Rehab a couple weeks ago in Sacramento and they were the shit. I wish there was never a falling out. They were peanut butter and jelly. Now we get no brooks albums or tours. Anyone got a Rehab jersey for sale lemme know.
Brooks doesn’t tour but is still active musically. I agree a reunion tour would be nice.
The tracks when the did the reunion are decent but quality is not the best sound wise. They only exist as rips from the net
Currently. What I can tell you is this. If they put it out I have it. If your looking for something in particular hit a ninja up.

What did he say, I miss that foo’s rapsThen I recommend you pick up the album he released last year. Also he releases shit often through social media a lot that can’t be placed on albums due to uncleared samples
I have had his whole “straight outta rehab” for years and put the random tracks “shit look good” and another I can’t recall title, its about sex chats online, on a disc. “Straight” is very very good. Danny is even on an early skit i think. I’ve also found a few great random you tubes of his songs here and there. What I’m saying is I know he’s been active in years past, but was wondering about more recent years. Did not know he has a 2013 album, I’ll cop it. Thanks for the info.
Also I still feel many want them to reunite. I said before that many subsequent songs are great post-Brooks.
I didn’t love all of the “Fixtape” despite it being quality. And the “Welcome Home” CD was the one the label tried to force a few more”bbartender songs” out of for singles. It was good overall. “Gullible’s Travels” was excellent to me.
Do you have a full version of that Live acoustic? I could only find a few MP3s of songs n skits.

yes. i have that. after straight outta rehab he was due to put a folow up out but the label went out of business.
he released the album online to fans. this include the tracks you mentioned as well as other youtube staples.
i even have the d.u.i till i die album which includeds alternate cuts of straight outta rehab.
multiple tracks exist that have yet to be released on a cd pressing, in addtion to multiple guest spots brooks has done.
ias i said if they did it i have it, i sill need to update to include a few newer tracks danny has done but if you would like i can certainly get these tracks, but it is going to take a minute and the file is goig to be huge.

Although it was disappointing when Danny and Brooks ended the original Rehab, they both continue to make great music. Straight out of Rehab is one of my favorite albums, and Graffiti the World was amazing. Rehab’s albums since Graffiti have been dope as well. In some ways having Brooks and Danny not in a group together has led to better things musically. Demun Jones is the shit, along with the other members who have been in and out of the band Rehab. Sad that the name Rehab is being “retired”, or whatever they want to call it, but since Brooks left it’s been Danny’s group/vision. Can’t wait to hear his new solo when it’s released.

You are correct, sir. Audio Club did suck. Other than Sumthin’ Serious I don’t even consider that a release. The chick was hot though, and they had a pretty funny video that went along with the song. That “group”, along with Brooks MTV show around the same time, is all lumped into things that weren’t so great.

I often wonder what would have happened with Rehab if Epic released Cuzwecan. Rehab was somewhat popular when Southern Discomfort came out, and had a video on MTV, but too many people lumped them into the lame rap/rock category. Cuzwecan is flat out one of the best hip hop albums I’ve ever heard, but how well do you think the album would have sold? Straight out of Rehab could have sold well, but SoSoDef fucked that up badly before it folded. I remember Brooks posted a picture of himself and Jermain Dupree, in 2006 maybe, saying they were working on new songs together, but I never saw anything else about that.
