yes the graphic looks about retarded, but upon a little further investigation. i really don’t think its a crack-pot conspiracy. it’s an actual issue being discussed in congress right now.

from what i understand, the major internet providers are basically trying to hold high speed internet hostage from site owners. they will set a premium that sites will have to pay if they want to run at the highest speeds

scenario time: lets say you get internet from AT&T, and you happen to love Netflix. now congress says it’s okay for these corporations to do this, now AT&T tells Netflix they have to pay them X amount to keep running at high speeds on their service.

option A) Netflix says fuck you we’re not paying shit. the next day you try and watch breaking bad it takes you twice as long to get though the episode due to slow streaming and buffering and what not.

option B) Netflix says fine we’ll pay your shake-down fee, now they aren’t going to eat that so the next month your not paying 8$ a month your paying possibly double that.

 

at least that’s how i see the issue. but i’m almost positive this isn’t just crazy talk.

I think I’ve heard about that last year and to be honest, it isn’t smart business at all.

A lot of cable companies also run internet services and Netflix is cutting into their profits, which is why most of them also have internet and phone services to at least make money on something.

Contain words like “ur” instead of “your” or “cuz” instead of “cause” or “b4″ instead of “before”, etc.

Are written as if 12 year old wrote them
Contain spam
Contain undue hatred, whether racial or otherwise

EDITOR’S NOTE: I have no control over actions of gnomes. Sometimes they follow their own rules, sometimes they don’t. If your comment disappears, blame the gnomes. I’m still trying to get mailing address to the gnome supreme court so you can file an appeal should you feel compelled. I keep the gnomes doped up on Snickers which has psychedelic effects on gnomes, so they hardly ever chomp on comments, but sometimes their addiction level fluctuates and leaves the creatures unpredictable. Ummm, Snickers…
