Last night I saw Kid Rock and Buckcherry at the Yum! Center in Louisville. Now I'm a big kid rock fan(old shit anyways) but I swear to Buddha I fucking fell asleep in my seat towards the end of his set. I was up on a balcony and felt like I was away from all the action.
So that begs a question…Do y'all prefer huge arenas for a show or the intimate setting of the club? Me, I need a pit and to be constantly moving.

club.
either way, though, i cant be seated for it. not with most of the music i would want to see live, anyway.
at the 02 gotj, they had this thing where each night, one-third of the juggalos would be on the 'floor' [read that, rink], and the rest were meant to be in the stands. the first night, many of us, myself included, went with the program. it was wack. the next two shows, nobody seemed to give much of a fuck about taking turns.
if its a symphony orchestra performance, something like that, maybe. but as a general rule, fuck sitting down at a concert.
awfully paranoid, arent you?

I remember that gathering scruffy, they had 3 different shape medallions. The way I remember it, the first night was just people trying to get down there and security stopping them, but nobody really cared. I was on the floor the second night so didn’t notice, but the third night it seemed like security just gave up about halfway through. It’s the way it should’ve been the whole time. I hated the idea from the start, knowing I couldn’t be on the floor for ICP, but hey, that was just the luck of the draw that year I guess. Still a good time.
I’d much rather see a club show, no matter what the genre of music. I’ve seen a few stadium/arena type shows, and sometimes you’re so far away it’s pretty much pointless being there at all. Most people don’t sit down at any concert that I go to, it’s just your mobility is limited.

I went to the Wiltern in LA and saw Meshuggah last night. They are such a dope ass band.Hands down clubs are better.Arenas take away that intimate setting.Even if you have shitty seats in a club you can still see pretty good.I like being on the floor with the energy of the people.Had seats last night and it sucks, people just sitting around. Some bitch was kept telling me to sit down cuz she couldnt see. What dumb ass people are gonna go to a metal show and tell people to sit down.Fuck off…

this happens to me at every damn show. im a tall guy, theres always some sawed-off runt behind me, sayin, 'go stand somewhere else, so i can see'.
usually, if i just turn and look at them, they shut right the fuck up. not always, though.
once, at a tech show, this idiot started bitchin, 'im tryin to record this, you keep getting in the way!' waving his camera at me like it means something. i snatched it out his hands, tossed it to the other side of the room. i feel a little bad about that, but he didnt bug me anymore, so i accomplished my goal.
by the way, short people, dont even think you can throw a cheap shot into my back and get away with it. this also happens all the time, and my response will be to spin around and immediately fuck up whoevers there, unless they are pointing out the real target. for real, though, if youre hard enough to punch a man in the back, youre hard enough to take the whuppin that goes with it, lil punks.

Club, absolutely. Like others, the thing I hate most about big arena shows is how people around you are always seated and never seem into the show. And there's always that one douchebag who drinks too much and has to keep crawling over you to get to the snack bar to get more beer.
I saw U2 in 2011 at Vanderbilt Stadium, but I ended up buying a general admission field ticket, so I had a fantastic view! There was a runway that came out into the crowd, and I was about 10 feet back from that! It was incredible to be that close to the action at such a huge stadium show!! But then I had to deal with all the people around me who aren't used to being smushed in crowds at concerts. One group laid down a blanket about five feet back from the barricade, like it was Shakespeare in the Park or some shit. So I just walked around them and stood in front of them at the very edge of the blanket. Then they wanted to come at me like “I can't believe you would be so rude and just cut in front of us like that.” Bitch this is the STANDING room only area, not the “sitting on a blanket, taking up 10 times the amount of space that I paid for” area. Eventually people converged onto their blanket, and they started screaming and threw a fit while retrieving their blanket from underneath everyone haha
