The amendment allowing the use of medical marijuana for patients in need has failed today. This is disappointing seeing how many elderly people are in need but they continue to pump them up with pills that kill.
it needed 70% votes to make it to the ballot this month, which it did, but in voting only 57% was for it. FL is too fuckin shady to be the Sunshine State.

Honestly, I think recreational pot is better than medicinal.
When it’s medicinal, you got like, thousands of people on disability smoking pot all day because their “shoulder hurts,” or they have, “crippling anxiety.”
When it’s recreational, you can just fucking be real. It helps you at the end of the day.
Medicinal should be for people with horrible diseases, not for every jackass that couldn’t graduate high school and decided at the ripe age of 28, that he was no longer fit for manual labor.
Been working at the Med/Rec dispensary for over a month now. I agree that seeing the few “medical” patients that aren’t truly needing it can be annoying, there is a lot more involved here.
First off, to get by in our tiny area, we have to have Rec with the Med, or we simply wouldn’t have a store. We make five times for on the Rec side every day, on average. So yes, Rec is important.
There are a LOT of elderly people coming in lately for pain relief. Using not only flower smoke, but CBD, THC, CBN etc patches, transdermal gel pens, pain creams and sprays, and IT WORKS. These people are fucking grateful as hell. These products should be covered by health care, no opinion. The latter few don’t even get one high psychoactively at all. It is medicine.
One lady on the medical side sympathized with me.so much about my mom’s cancer ordeal that she baked us herb brownies for.free, just to have because my mom gets super paranoid from flower THC usage. My mom visited us in CO for over a week and ate a bit of the brownies every night. She loves em. Treated her ailments and aided in insomnia issues as well. We are forming a community.
Back to Rec… it is too expensive (despite taxes going to good causes), and people that need the Red Card for Medical shouldnt have to go through all the cost and trouble of getting one in my opinion.
So i suppose i agree with you in the sense that both sides should.be combined. But then the rec buyers will have easier access to the high mg THC edibles and such, so they’ll just abuse it in many cases.
I dunno, im all for it as Americans. I myself have gotten back into toking about once a week, just to stay on top of things in the industry. I think shatter and wax smokers are kind of bullshit, but i still support them having that right. They are almost always the same kind of smoker though: young, dumb and just want to get fuuuuucked up bro! Ive had more than a couple kids come.in saying they are more qualified for my job than me.because they get higher than me, when i was dropping acid, psilocybin, dxm and such when they were still pissing their pants.

According to
http://www.flgov.com/2014/02/1…..a-tourism/
Florida tourism has been at record numbers. If legalization of medical marijuana would cut into that action I can see how it would not become law. My past experience with Florida demonstrated that tourism ruled, and maybe it still does.

The majority of the NO votes were the elderly folk, which completes my assumption. They were fed that propaganda pot films back in the day, which now they think people are gonna kill eachother when they take marijuana, but in the meantime, their doctors are giving them meds that “supposed” to treat them ,but then adds to the problem with WORSE problems, thus killing them. im not bitching cuz I want to get high, because if I wanted to I could go out right now and get it. Im just baffled by the ignorance of people who are fed bullshit and haven’t done any research. People are givin pain killers, and then they get addicted to them because they abuse them. then when they cant get anymore, they get them on the street, or start the hard shit, like meth and heroine. I seen it happen. Its not all about getting high, its a healer, and reliever.
And everywhere you look, there are Alcohol adverts on TV, radio, sports… fuckin everywhere. They have BARS, where you go and drink, then leave drunk, and kill innocent people crossing the fucking road, and become reliant, and abuse your spouse and children, and slowly rot your fuckin liver. but its legal! insane man

I don’t see how curing a medical condition effects tourism. Its a stricted bill which only allows certain factors and medical conditons to get the card. Im sure while the years pass, it would be less restricted, but its not like people are gonna be out in the open blazin. The bill is aimed towards people who really need it, and 52 % of the people feel they rather have those people suffer rather than heal.
Look what it did to Colorado for tourism. They are rakin in the money, and thats recreational.

CNN explains that medical marijuana legalization would be altering Florida’s constitution, and that requires a 60% vote.

Florida cares about its global image since it’s heavy into international tourism. Marijuana’s curative properties aside, if bottom line statistics show that Florida’s tourists (Disney, NASA, beaches, etc.) shy away from marijuana then the lobby against it in any form would be strong. Also, Colorado tourist destinations are a lot different than beach resorts and Universal Studios.

every human being should have the right to use Marijuana.Everyone.”sick” or not. Just because you cant tell if somebody is “sick” doesnt mean that they arent.I use it for depression and it helps me.Better than being addicted to pills thats for sure.

Hopefully PA’s new governor will free the plant soon. He’s for legalizing it so I have ‘high’ hopes. I met some people that had a legitimate excuse for smoking weed and I met some people that all they do is smoke pot. And I don’t agree how the pharmaceutical companies are making a killing with their drug prescriptions. That’s the real crime.
