Consenus? Here? I hope you brought something to read while you’re waiting. I don’t think I’ve ever been anywhere where there’s less of a tendency for consensus about anything.
Which, now that I think about it, is actually pretty cool. In pretty much any community, internet or otherwise, there’s still pretty much always a bitch ass hierarchy and groupthink that emerges. There are the people at the top who everyone automatically agrees with no matter what they say, and the people at the bottom who everyone is quick to pile on when the opportunity arises. It happens even in communities that are overwise cool, it’s like a law of nature or something. Plenty of consensus in communities like that.
At Faygoluvers though, that’s not how it is. I mean, yeah, you can certainly identify who the most respected posters are here and you could call that a hierarchy. But none of them are above taking shit or being disagreed with, and you don’t see newbies hound dogging them to try to raise their status (well except for me and Randy Gall, but that’s different- it’s about me trying to find the father figure and role model I never had). Meanwhile, even the people who are disliked still get some measure of acceptance and respect as long as they stick around and take the shit people give them like a man.
That’s pretty cool.
