i am 18 years old and im based out of tulsa oklahoma. i like horror movies, guro, harsh noise, and making music

Faygoluver: How did you get into music.
Knifey: i have been raised around music my entire life. when i was 2 my dad introduced me to Daft Punk and since then ive been obsessed with music. i was always a musical kid. i used to play drums. i didnt really start making legit music until i was 13. thats when i learned of artists like lil darkie, suicideboys, and kirby2cool(lmao). those artists showed me a new version of rap that i hadnt seen before, and i knew from the moment i saw it, it was exactly what i wanted to do.

Faygoluver: Your music combines a wide range of inspiration, tell us a little about how you found your sound.
Knifey: i listen to many different kinds of music and it all influences me in its own way. like i said earlier, daft punk was the first bout of music i was introduced to, specifically their album human after all. since hearing that album i have had a soft spot for dissonant distorted uniform techno that makes you feel like your brain is made of wires and electricity runs through your veins. i am also a fan of harsh noise and power electronics (i.e. whitehouse, ramleh, sutcliffe jugend) which inspires my writing style and the way i structure my beats. and my rapping style and flow comes from artists like insane clown posse, spider gang, clipping, and snoop dogg’s earlier albums. there are many bands and people i have listened to over the years shaped my sound in very small ways, too many to list. but check out my spotify playlists and youll see everyone whos ever inspired me.
Faygoluvers: You just dropped Antiseptic, tell us about that project and what it means to you.
Knifey: antiseptic is an album i created as a sheer test of endurance and will. i wrote most of this album while i was working security at an extended stay which was a hotspot for methheads, homeless, and flat out suffering. i witinessed and experienced suffering there, and i wrote out everything i felt. this album is also when i started experimenting more with my sampling and what i sample. ive always been experimental but this was different. more raw, more visceral, more dark. truly knifey at my most primal.

Faygoluvers: Any Shout outs?
Knifey: my beautiful wife, breakbutcher, maggotblood, hannibal hackenbush and everybody at terribal records, my best irl friend lambcorpses check out his art its so fucking peak. and my family for being as supportive as they possibly could with my art. love em all to death.

And that’s a wrap, ninjas! A huge thanks to the homie Knifey for coming on and dropping that wicked shit with us. It was a killer conversation, and we appreciate him for keeping it real.
