We Apologize D-Loc. Tho Fans Truly Deserve to See the OG Kottonmouth Kings Again! (Mini-Editorial)

Many fans among the underground haven’t taken too kindly to D-Loc revamping the Kottonmouth Kings.  This is understandable because so many of us grew up on the influential punk rock hip-hop reggae-infused music of the Kottonmouth Kings. Their underground legacy deeply became part of our everyday lives through their pro-marijuana stance and positive messages that helped us conquer our own stresses in life. People become permanently attached emotionally to bands/artists because they love the music from their favorite artists so damn much. Words can’t even begin to describe the incredible feelings that rush through our minds and body when we connect to music on a personal level. Us music fans never want any of our favorite artists to break up or become unrecognizable sonically. I’m a classic  KMK fan since first discovering their music through Linkin Park thanking the Kottonmouth Kings inside their  “Reanimation” release (July 2002) back when I was 14. The “Rollin’ Stoned”  LP still receives continuous play from me to this very day. As both versions of “Tangerine Sky” are still the ultimate stress reliever. I just miss that positive era of the Kottonmouth Kings. Shit, I’ve seen them live nearly a dozen times between 2008 through 2016. The first being the Strange Noize tour 2008 in Grand Rapids, MI. Using my grocery money to attend. Not knowing when I was eating next. The last two times being in Billings, Montana and the “Year of the Butterfly” Gathering, both in 2016 without Richter or Bobby B.

I recently became bitter at wanting the OG KMK back and took a few cringy verbiage jabs at D-Loc online through my articles.

And I admit that was unnecessary. I know that leaving any kind of hate in your heart is bad for your well-being. And I stupidly let my fan pride dip into greed.  I just wanted the die-hard Kottonmouth Kings’ fans to know what they were stepping into musically/visually upon purchasing tickets to see D-Loc’s own take of the current Kottonmouth Kings with him being the only founding KMK member left. But I should’ve taken a more professional approach.  D-Loc and every Kottonmouth Kings member have been through hell upon losing both Pakelika (RIP) and Saint Dog (RIP). It’s  D-Loc’s right to keep pursuing music to help shake off his inner demons and heartache. Does everyone have to have to agree with D-Loc forming a new Kottonmouth Kings band? Not at all. But spreading any hate towards another man’s music choice is distasteful. Yes, Kings and Kweens from all over the globe truly do deserve to be able to see the OG Kottonmouth Kings kick ass together again. But it’ll take an underground miracle to unite Johnny Rickter (who is kicking ass with King Klick), Bobby B, Daddy X, D-Loc, Taxman, Lou Dog, and Dirtball for another tour or record. And, at the end of the day, there are  KMK fans worldwide that actually appreciate what D-Loc is trying to do to keep the legacy of KMK alive through the “25 to Life” LP and beyond. And we should at least respect that, even if many of us don’t like it. So we here at Faygoluvers.net just wanted to say keep doing you, D-Loc. Good luck with the current KMK tour and your future music endeavors!

“*I* Apologize D-Loc. Tho Fans Truly Deserve To See The OG Kottonmouth Kings Again! (Mini-Editorial)”

There, I fixed your title. You’re one person apologizing for your responses, and you gave your reasons for it. But myself along with so many other people just aren’t gonna support what “KMK” stands for these days. The only part I kinda get behind is the fact that people finding out about Kottonmouth Kings these days would possibly cause them to look up the back catalog, which helps generate revenue to the other members. Great. But the route that’s being taken to do it just isn’t it. Hell, with the music coming out now, if someone heard that and they never heard if KMK before, I doubt they’d be inclined to look much further. Maybe I’m completely wrong, and I’ll admit it if I actually am if that’s the case in the long run, but the future doesn’t look bright for the KMK name.

It’s still early in the game for the new line-up here but I’m encouraged to see actual musicians in the band. I kinda want to see what this band can do. Dance the Block seemed to be a tease of their actual skill set, hopefully they’ll dive into the basics of what made KMK great before with the punk/reggae stuff but still, throw in the vibe that caught D-Loc’s attention with these new guys and create a dope new musical product.

My concern tho is D-Loc rushing the vocal process which seems to be the case IMO. He seems a bit rusty and disconnected with what made him great in the past and I know he can pull himself together better. Keep the standards high and rehearse rehearse rehearse ’till you’ve mastered your new balance. Keep pushing the boundaries D-Loc, let’s see what you can do.

Why do we have to apologize. Everyone in a family has problems that can’t be solved. Loc still doing him on his grind or trying to grind for those who still bump his shit. I don’t. I’m not really into the new srh either Richter kills shit but some others no. Idk anymore most groups who break up won’t tour again and me personally I wouldn’t pay for a reunion tour or any og kmk tour don’t know what you will get or who will show up. Reminds me of esham shows back in the day. Either he was dope or too fucked up 30 mins set done. Anyway some articles need to stay off this website

randy gall winning in the comments again lmao
y’all know I’ve defended D-Loc, he’s always been my favorite member of KMK. That new “Dance The Block” shit is so fucking wack and I’ve realized, the dude isn’t making moves with Richter why? Because he probably wants more skrilla, a bigger cut of the cheese, and they can’t work out a deal.
Plus the dude is pilled the fuck out, or coked the fuck out, or an amalgamation of both. Idk but Loc is fucking tweeked out man
