*UPDATED* Joey Jordison (Slipknot/Vimic/Murderdolls) Passes Away At Age 46 RIP

The Iowa heavy metal legends Slipknot will always be part of Insane Clown Posse and Juggalo music history. Slipknot setting up a fake beef plot with Insane Clown Posse to simply reach thousands of viewers on Howard Stern in 1999 was such a genius, hilarious, publicity scheme! Not long after, Slipknot ferociously took over the metal world with their chaotic experimental heaviness! But sadly today, an avalanche of sadness and despair has coldly descended upon the rock/metal community across the world. Joey Jordison, (Slipknot/Vimic/Murderdolls) one of the most talented and gifted drummers of all time, has unfortunately passed away last night at age 46. Jordison’s family said he passed away peacefully in his sleep. They did not reveal his cause of death, but said his passing had left them with “empty hearts and feelings of indescribable sorrow”. His family will be holding a private funeral in Jordison’s honor too.

We here at send our deepest sincerest condolences to his entire family, friends, all his music allies, and fans. Stay strong and rock out tonight in Joey Jordison’s honor. RIP

*UPDATED* Artists React To Joey Jordison’s Death

Wednesday 13:

Hard to write this…but so long to my brother Joey Jordison.
You pulled me from the haystacks of NC and showed me the world. I learned everything from you. I’ll never forget our times together. The greatest Drummer ever -YOU changed the game.
R.I.P. Joey Jordison

This is hard. I’m at a loss. I’m gonna ramble. Forgive me. I met Joey on Ozzfest when he still played in SLIPKNOT. I watched them EVERY SINGLE DAY. And if he or Clown or Corey saw me standing anywhere near their area, they’d pull me up on side stage and let me watch them play their set. And when my drummer quit just before we were set to start recording House Of Secrets, I reached out to Joey & he eagerly agreed to play. He was a REAL ONE. So rare in this world.

I know he had his struggles and it cost him a lot. I’m told he was also sick with a rare illness that also cost him a lot. But I’m also told he always kept a positive spirit & that was the man I knew. He & I lost touch over the years & I regret that. So, sooo much.
My thoughts are with his family, friends, former bandmates & all the fans that loved and admired him & his playing. Much, much love to all. xoxo OTEP xoxo

Jeffrey Nothing:

Rest In Power Joey Jordison #1! The metal community has lost a true legend and inspiration. You will be missed! ❤

I used to spend almost every night trying to draw his mask. He was my first masked creepy boy crush. I lost my shit watching videos of him drumming upside down. He is a legend whose name will never die. RIP Joey Jordison, #1.

Billy Obey (Alla Xul Elu):

RIP Joey Jordison

Joey Simpson (Kissing Candice):

My heart is broken into a million pieces. I’m forever grateful that I not only got to see you play with the original 9, but got to have a few conversations with you while touring with you guys on Mayhemfest. I will also never forget playing Des Moines, Iowa with my Slipknot tribute band looking over mid-set seeing you and Paul standing side stage watching our “ Joey” play the songs. Where ever you are I hope that you are back with your brother Paul. You’ll always be #1

Got to see Joey Jordison about three times with Slipknot. An absolute legend. Only six years older than me. Gone way too young.

Serj Tankian (System of a Down):

RIP Joey J-an amazing drummer and a fantastic guy!

Reel Wolf Productions:

#RIP @thejoeyjordison 🙏 @slipknot was one of my favorite bands growing up as a kid – my deepest condolences to my bro @sidthe3rd and the rest of the band

The Agonist:

Thank you for bringing extreme music to the masses. You inspired legions of kids to follow their dreams.

Rob Flynn (Machine Head):

Rest In Peace Joey Jordison. Such a talented songwriter, amazing drummer, great guitar player, and funny human being. Our lives intertwined so many times man… This hurts. Way too young…

Ozzy Osbourne:

Deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Joey Jordison. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends and fans.

We are saddened by the news of the passing of our dear friend, Joey Jordison. From being able to share the stage with him numerous times throughout the years to Matt standing alongside him for the Roadrunner United album. He was always super gracious to all of us in Trivium.

Jamey Jasta (Hatebreed):

Rest In Peace Joey Jordison. You changed the game with Slipknot. Brought the blast beat to the mainstream! Gave kids a groove like no other. Perseverance would’ve never happened had it not been for Joey & the Slipknot camp. Condolences to his family, friends & fans. Gone too soon.

Thank you for being kind to us, and always going out of your way to say hello when we saw each other during festivals, and shows. You were one of the best drummers in the scene. You will be missed dear friend, RIP Joey #1

P.S. I, Chad Thomas Carsten interviewed the man who was handpicked by Joey Jordison to be the frontman of the Murderdolls. I’m talking about the mighty Wednesday 13. Here is Wednesday 13 sharing touring memories of Joey Jordison with me at the Pub Station in Billings, Montana, in Fall 2016.

Chad T. Carsten:  What’s your most cherished memory working with Joey Jordison (Slipknot/Vimic/Murderdolls)?
Wednesday 13: That’s a good question. [Pondered on the question for a few minutes]
There was a ton of cool stuff! We did a lot of stuff in a really short time! I literally went from North Carolina to (seriously) playing in Tokyo, Japan in front of thirty thousand people with Guns N’ Roses in a month. Being able to do that kind of stuff/being on tour with Murderdolls/meeting my hero’s like Alice Cooper and him taking us out on tour; there are so many memories. It was just really cool on how he and I wrote together. When we did the record “Women and Children Last”, we hadn’t seen each other in almost six years. We went into the studio and I sat right in front of his drum set with my guitar and we tracked everything and talked it out, just guitar and drums. We tracked all eighteen of those songs in a day in a half. It was perfect! No arguments, nothing! We laughed the whole time.
When it comes to music-wise, me and that dude can do amazing things. And it’s not just him; it’s a lot of things that factor into why we haven’t done anything since. It’s just unfortunate when that last Murderdolls record happened, Paul Gray (RIP) died right before it came out and that really changed everything. So had that not happened, things could be different. But it was just a really, really bad time when that happened. The first album when it came out we had all the steam going. We were blowing up in England; it was huge! Then the label wanted more Slipknot, so it was no more, we had to take a break. And when you take a break, people forget. And that’s why we had to start all over again. So it’s just unfortunate that the band had all this steam and it got put on hold.

Here we can see that Chad writes an article where he referes to himself in the third person. 5 Years ago he interviewed someone who once worked with someone who died. This is relevant as fuck.

Lmao. At this rate, he’s going to start referring to himself as “THE CHAD”.
Hell the very 1st paragraph alone was a huge stretch of relevancy to this man’s death.
Chad, are you sniffing your own farts too? It’s not gd. It causes brain damage as continuously demonstrated by your writing.

    He’s 100% a fart sniffer…

He’s changed the article too. He originally wrote “P.S. No quotes from musicians at this time. But close to 5 years ago, our staff member, Chad Thomas Carsten interviewed the man who was handpicked by Joey Jordison to be the frontman of the Murderdolls.”

But I bet he’s gonna delete this comment.

No disrespect to billy obey n axe n mne on this but THAT is just hella out of place to me lol these other bands are huge names that have been in the game forever. Then the Chad slips in a group who’s fairly new compared to these other guys. Has axe done any work w anybody from slipknot? Anybody feel free to correct me if I’m wrong but this just seems like another classic carsten stretch to me lol atleast get a quote from icp whom you mentioned their fake beef w lmao

I like how most of the entries take 2 – 3 lines and AXE’s just like “Rip Joey”. Does not fit here.

Also: Scottie or whoever runs this site now, you truly need better staff and not the self-centred, comment deleting, fart sniffing man-child that is Chad. He probably got a boner inserting himself into this article and then proceeded to violently fuck his pet rat.
