This has been a LONG time coming, but now, it’s finally here!  Let me give you a little bit of a back story.

A rep from AlienWheels.com hit me up one day a few weeks back asking if we’d be interested in reviewing one of their newest balance board (aka “hover board”) models which they called Batwings.

After talking it over with the rest of the Faygoluvers crew, I agreed to have one shipped to me so that we could check it out and let Juggalos and Juggalettes know how we felt about it.  After my initial review, I took it to Blaze Ya Dead Homie‘s “The Casket Factory” tour and let a bunch of Juggalos try it out there too!   We have ALL of it on a freshly edited video by DoeNut, and you should check that out below:

Yes, the funniest parts are in the Outtakes which start at the 5 minute, 20 second mark.  But you can see Juggalos doing their thing on it throughout the entire video!

REVIEW: If you watch the video, I tell you what I think about it.  The short of it is that even though I was apprehensive, I ended up having a really good time with it!  My son thinks it’s awesome!  Most of the Juggalos at the Blaze show mentioned earlier had never tried a balance board and were pretty excited to.  After some initial blunders, we all caught on pretty quickly!

This model is pretty quick (faster than a brisk walk), and the Bluetooth option is a nice feature.  The built-in speakers are surprisingly loud!  The Samsung battery holds its charge for a more-than-adequate amount of time.  We probably got a good 60-90 minutes of riding time in before the concert, and it didn’t show any signs of slowing down!  This is also not one of those cheap batteries that have been catching on fire due to overcharging. AlienWheels STILL recommends that you don’t charge these for more than 2 hours.

The board is heavy, with a shipping weight of around 30 pounds.  That shouldn’t deter you though!  It seems to be very durable, has good tires on it, and the rubber pads that you stand on are thick, and grip your shoes rather well while riding.  The only “gripe”, if you want to call it that, is that the plastic that the board is made out of scuffs up rather easily.  If you ride it perfectly and never fall off, then you have no worries.  If you are like some of these first-timers, and even myself, sometimes there are mishaps which lead the board to roll end over end away from you.  That’s still not a deal-breaker though, as the scuffs and scratches don’t effect the board’s functionality.

I’d absolutely recommend a purchase, and if you want to grab this or any model at AlienWheels.com, you can put in discount code FAYGOLUVERS and get hooked up with either a $150 or $200 discount depending on the model!

PROS:

  • Long battery life
  • Fun to ride
  • Bluetooth audio (on Batwings and other select models)
  • Easy to get the hang of riding it

CONS:

  • Plastic casing scratches easily (though it doesn’t effect the rideability of it)

Thanks for reading and watching the video!  Stay tuned to Faygoluvers and we’ll tell you how YOU can win this test model for yourself!  Yes, it’s got some character on it with the scratches from Juggalos falling off of it at the Blaze show, but it’s going to be FREE, so who can complain about that?
