Akrymoni

Akrymoni - "Farewell (Prod. By KARDIAC)" Akrymoni - "Laughing Wickedly (Prod. By KARDIAC)"

Well, welcome back Ninjas and Ninjettes! It’s Johnny O. and I’m back with another fresh new interview for the Faygoluvers Underground Spotlight. This time I got a chance to interview Unrestrained Sounds’ latest artist on the rise, Akrymoni. Originally hailing from the Mile High City of Denver, Colorado he actually began writing his own lyrics at only twelve years old. Obviously things have changed and grown for him since then, but we’ll get into all that.

So, make sure to check out the tracks above for a sneak peek at what to expect from his forthcoming release. And… Let’s get into this thing…

Akrymoni 2

Johnny O: First, for those who may not have heard of Akrymoni before, can you introduce yourself for us?

Akrymoni: Well to everyone checking out this spotlight, my name is Akrymoni. I’m the newest member on the Unrestrained Sounds team, and I’m here to show the world what I got.

JO: You’ve been writing lyrics since you were around 12, but you had a period where things drastically changed for you musically, can you tell us about that?

Akrymoni: You know that typical wanna-be rap? Well that was me. I wrote lyrics similar to what was being pushed in my face. Partying, woman, money, and things I didn’t do or have. But then I went through a harsh stage of depression that opened my eyes to real darkness. That’s when I discovered the underground and realized I wasn’t alone in my pain. That’s when the typical lyrics switched to dark hip-hop. I wrote pure hatred and violent horror on a daily bases just trying to get better at my art.

JO: Though you’ve been through some changes, how would you describe your current style?

Akrymoni: My current style is still surprising to me still. It’s more complex, detailed, scenario type music. It’s more dark and unique regardless of the subject. Even if I’m working with an artist who doesn’t do horrorcore, I stick with the dark styles. You can hear a huge difference in just a few months from my older to more recent releases.

JO: How would you say things have changed for you since officially becoming a member of the Unrestrained Sounds team?

Akrymoni: Things have only gotten better since my signing. My music has reached more listeners who have only given positive feedback. Kardiac and April have been putting in so much work on my current project, and me that words cannot express my appreciation.

JO: I know that you’re currently hard at work on your latest album; can you let us in on anything?

Akrymoni: Well we’ve been at work on this album for a few months now and I must say it’s pure darkness. The darkest material I’ve ever worked on. A release date hasn’t been set in stone just yet, but I will say it’ll be real soon. The album title will be announced once the release date is announced. As for features, Kardiac is the only artist, so far, that’ll be featured on this album.

JO: Both of the new tracks featured in this spotlight both happened to be produced by KARDIAC. How has that relationship been?

Akrymoni: My relationship with Kardiac is going well. We’ve been seeing eye to eye on just about everything so far. He is very easy to work with; he knows his music and music business like no one I’ve ever met. He’s been providing me with the sickest of artwork and the most intense beats any artist can ask for. He’s an awesome dude; I owe him a lot for everything he’s done for me.

JO: How would you compare the new material to your first LP “There Will Be Blood,” or even the “Oxygen” Mixtape?

Akrymoni: The new material is far out compared to my first LP and “Oxygen.” When I break it down, “oxygen” is my best work to date. I put so much focus on it, and hit every subject from relationships, booty calls, religion, and murder. But with the new material I’ve been working on with US, “Oxygen” and “There Will Be Blood” don’t stand a chance. With my older material, I was always iffy about what I said, but not now. I’m more aggressive and dark. And my delivery is on point. It’s pure horror not intended for the faint of heart. My first single “Laughing Wickedly” states that perfectly.

JO: If you could reach out to any artist(s) for collaboration, who would you love to work with?

Akrymoni: There are a lot of artists who I would kill to work with. But the top five I want to work with are, Lo Key, Vinnie Paz, Snow Tha Product, Megan Nichole, and it may seem out of reach, but the last would be Corey Taylor.

JO: Who are you currently listening to?

Akrymoni: I’ve been listening to a lot of Dieabolik The Monster, Dead Daze, Lo Key, Playboy The Beast, So Sick Social Club, and Aphotic Product.

JO: Over the years I’m sure you’ve had a number of different inspirations, can you tell us who you really consider a true source of inspiration?

Akrymoni: I have a huge list of artists who inspire me, but the two main ones have always been Lo Key and Kardiac. Lo Key because of his huge success in music and his place in the horrorcore scene. Kardiac, because of his music. There’s no artist in the world like him. No one, and I mean no one gets as dark and demented as him. He gets so detailed it literally frightens me and that’s what I love.

JO: For those who want to check out more of what Akrymoni has to offer, where can they check you out?

JO: I always like to say that we wouldn’t be where we are today with out those around us, so let’s end this things with some shout outs?

Akrymoni: Well big shout outs to Kardiac and April for all they’ve been doing for me. My brother Don P for getting me started in music, my brothers A-Game and Kaydub for their wickedness on my tracks, the home girl Switchblade Stiletto for her beautiful voice. My prima Laura Valdez for killing it on back up for me, my sisters Samantha and Monique, my oldest fan, Selena, may you rest in paradise, my new label mates, all old and new fans and supporters, and last but not least, faygoluvers.net for this Underground Spotlight.

So to all of you artists out there, if you would like to be featured right here on the Faygoluvers’ Underground Spotlight just hit me up at [email protected]. Make sure to include a short bio, why you want to/should be featured, a pic or two and a couple tracks. Of course don’t forget to include UGS or something similar in the subject line.
