KiNGPiN (of SicFux Ent.)

Sup juggalos and juggalettes and monkeys reading this. It’s you boy BeZerk pushing out another fucking interview. That’s right, I’m turning interviews like I was flipping rock to your mother on the street corner. Juggalos, do I got something for you.

Continuing with artists that performed at the Hopsin show, we got another SicFux for you who may not be familiar. Coming out of my home state of Minnesota, a KiNG has been tearing up stages for over a decade now. Working close with Jimmy Donn and the other SicFux, KiNGPiN has also worked with Liquid Assassin, and shared the stage with Hopsin, SwizZz, SCUM, GrewSum, F. Dux, Dark Half, and many more.

So without further ado juggalos, bow to your KiNG…

*Note to the juggalos* the mp3s provided are about 8 years old, but are for you to check and see what the KiNG has to offer. You want to hear more recent stuff, buy his album or check the SicfuxEnt YouTube channel.

Interview for: KiNGPiN
Real Name: Keenan Sullivan
From: Saint Paul (East Side), Minnesota
Rolls With: SicFux Ent/Dopesic

Faygoluvers: Why did you choose the name KiNGPiN?

KiNGPiN: I didn’t really choose the name per say, people called me that when I was younger. I kind of resembled the comic book super villain Kingpin, and for other undisclosed reasons. Just make sure it’s always written this way…KiNGPiN

Faygoluvers: Who would you consider as an inspiration?

KiNGPiN: My inspirations are Krayzie Bone, Andre 3000, Chamillionaire, Notorious B.I.G., Liquid Assassin, my fans and my mother. The musicians are for obvious reasons. Liquid Assassin and I are really close, and we pretty much grew up doing this together. My mother is an amazing and strong human being who had to put up with plenty of my shit growing up, and my fans are the foundation of my music…

“Built my kingdom from the ground up above the rap games where I sits- And it’s standing strong, ‘cuz I don’t build my shit with mud n sticks- No puff puff blown away ‘cuz I do not create with bricks- I built it with my fans and they are the epitome of the Sic-“

-KiNGPiN “Rise Up” from the album RiSE OF THE KiNG

Faygoluvers: What’s your favorite flavor of Faygo?

KiNGPiN: I don’t drink much sugar pop/soda anymore after I had the gastric bypass surgery, but if I was going to have a soda (which I do from time to time) I would have to say I would go with Rock-n-Rye… Man, that shit is good and it reminds me of Big Red, a soda I used to drink when I was a kid.

Faygoluvers: You’ve actually been doing music for a while. Tell the Juggalos about how you got started.

KiNGPiN: I have been doing this for 14 years. I got started in my basement listening to Bone Thugs~n~Harmony… I would write down their lyrics and practice them over and over again until I knew all of the lyrics by heart. I have about 6 notebooks all full of Bone lyrics packed in a box in my shed. Then I started writing my own lyrics to their songs, and I would pretty much go with the same melody as well so it would pretty much be a bootleg Bone song. Then I started making remixes to other peoples songs as a kind of Weird Al type of deal, and my friend Josh told me to start writing my own lyrics ‘cuz my remixes were pretty good. Then I stumbled across this tape that a buddy gave me, and it was Jimmy Donn’s “My So Called Life” album and I dug it. He was a big white dude from East Saint Paul like myself, so I figured if he could do it so could I. I bumped into him at the bus stop downtown one day, and I rapped for him and he liked it. Plain ‘n simple, that’s how I got started, because then he started putting me in the studio. Flash forward to the Sicfux era and we’re gettin it in, still, and still on the same team. Ride or die Sicfux for life!

Faygoluvers: Who have you been able to work with?

KiNGPiN: I have done a lot of shows and I have collaborated mainly with people from my crews in Minnesota.

The shows I have done have ranged all the way from ICP after parties, Bone Thugs after parties, to opening for Tech N9NE with the old Oddballer Label and destroying stages with Hopsin and SwizZz now days. Mac 10, Afroman, Paul Wall, (to name a few more), gone out of state for shows even. Denver CO for Gorefest on May 7th you should all ride with the Sicfux out there… info on www.sicfuxent.com

[BeZerk here, obviously this is after GoreFest, but you can always check www.sicfuxent.com for any news regarding SicFux] My collabs have been more local, Liquid Assassin, Jimmy Donn, Killa Capone, Kap1onE, Ill Locco and Infamouz to name some… more are in the works tho and we will continue to blow your mind.

Faygoluvers: Who would you like to work with in the future?

KiNGPiN: I would love to work with Krayzie Bone and Andre 3 stacks. I always love killing tracks with Liquid Assassin as well. Honestly, I can’t go wrong making music with my Sicfux family, so if it ain’t broken, don’t fix it. I have to get at my 42 Soldier JTG and longtime friend Junior T. Other than those people, Dopesic will continue to make it rain.

Faygoluvers: What would you say makes you unique from other artists?

KiNGPiN: I am me… Head to Toe from my lyrics to my swagg is everything but ordinary. I rap street shit, but get mad love from the Juggalos out there. I’m a Sicfuk, I speak my mind, if you are familiar with my music then you know why I’m separate from the rest. If you are not familiar with my music…YouTube Dopesic and then you will witness it firsthand.

Faygoluvers: Me and you drunken freestyled, you and my boy Beh Nais freestyled, and I checked Skoot and your freestyle on YouTube. How often do you do freestyle battles?

KiNGPiN: Absolutely every time I’m drunk, or whenever someone wants to. I have even battled in tournaments. I battle myself a lot because the only way to get better is to battle a stronger opponent. I have lost my fair share of battles due to inebriation, but I stay pretty ridiculous other than that.

Faygoluvers: Your album Rise of the KiNG is on pre-order now at www.SicfuxEnt.com and officially drops at WickedLeaks Weekend (May 28th). What can you tell the Juggalos about your album?

KiNGPiN: There is a new Dopesic track on it called “Dopesic Nation” Oz, Skoot, and Liquid will also be partaking in the Sickness that will be the RiSE. I really can’t explain it any better than epic.

Faygoluvers: When and where are your next few shows?

KiNGPiN: WickedLeaks Weekend is May 27th – 29th with a BBQ in Saint Paul at Battle Creek Park at 2pm on the 27th

WickedLeaks at Station 4 downtown Saint Paul at 2pm on the 28th

And a Duluth show on the 29th.

If anyone wants to have the best weekend of their lives then I suggest you attend WickedLeaks Weekend (BeZerk here letting Minnesota juggalos know that WickedLeaks Weekend will feature Hopsin, SwizZz, King Gordy, ClaAs, F. Dux, GrewSum, Kombine, Dopesic, Royal Pain, Open Minded, Maniac The Siouxpernatural, PLC, Team Bad Decision, Cloroks, and more. Once again, I should be there, but will just be attending).

Faygoluvers: Shout outs?

KiNGPiN: I gotta give a shout out to all my Sicfux: Jimmy Donn, Killa Capone, Oz, Skoot, Big H, and Skitzofrenik D-Generate. My SicChix: Beverly “Dr.Snoops”, Lil C the Lyrical P, Shawna, and Miss Xtina. The rest of the Sicfux Crew: Shotz, Demik, and Kandis. If I forgot anyone I will feel like an asshole… but I still love ya. DJ DMil for making us sound amazing all of the time. I have to shout out BeZerk for interviewing me (I’m not DarkHalf…I’m only one guy lol) [BeZerk here once again: at Wicked Winter Ball, KP came up to me and was like I’m ready for my interview, and I go “You Dark Half?” Even though Dark Half was literally performing at that moment. Lol,) and Faygoluvers, Juggalos, Juggalettes, all of my fans, you all make the Sicfux Movement mean something. My woman Claire for being so damn supportive, my brothers: TK, Trigg, Liquid Assassin and Billy Da Kidd. Again my mother for putting up with all of my shit forever. I love every one of you and you make this life I live worth it… thank you
