Sup juggalos and juggalettes and broke ninjas that need beats. Your boy BeZerk is back with another fresh interview. I keep getting emails and shit while my computer is down, and I have been talking with other underground bands, and I’m surprised how many underground artists are checking the UGS.

So I figured for all those newbies to the game that needed some fresh ass beats, I’d help hook them up with one of my favorites.

Coming out of France, Al’ Tarba has been working with a whole shit ton of people. Ill Bill, Lord Lhus, The Savage Brothers, Raekwon, Q Unique, etc. So here’s an exclusive interview with Al Tarba while I work on my computer. Catch you next time juggalos.

Faygoluvers: Where did you come up with your name?

It’s a wordplay in French. It doesn’t really mean something. It means bastard..

Faygoluvers: Who inspires you?

I’ve been influenced by artist like Necro, RJD2 , RZA, Stoupe, Portishead.. And many hardcore punks bands like Madball, Pig Destroyer, Rancid. Movies inspire me a lot too. I’ve always been into horror/ gore flicks. “Maniac”, “Cannibal Holocaust”, old 70’s and 80’s shit.. Vintage porn movies are good to sample too ahah, “Deep Throat” ost is sick!! Everyday life is a big inspiration, mostly the way I lived my journey influenced the way my newest beat would sound..

Faygoluvers: You’ve worked with many artists I am a fan of, Lord Lhus, Savage Brothers, Psych Ward. Who else have you worked with?

I made beats for artist like Ill Bill, Raekwon, Q Unique, Little Vic just to name a few, and Swift Guad, Seth Gueko , and my band Droogz Brigade when it comes to French rappers!

Faygoluvers: Who are you working with in the near future?

I’m doing a whole album with Lord Lhus, shit is gonna be brutal!! I’ve also songs coming with Psych Ward, Sean Strange , Ill Bill and many more!!

Faygoluvers: Who would you like to work with in the future?

I’d really like to do a song with Ghostface Killah, also B-real, that’d be sick!!!

Faygoluvers: What other artists are you currently listening to right now?

Recently i’ve been listening to a lot of abstract hiphop, from Socalled to Cookram, Rjd2, Four Tet, Blockhead.. I love Ninja Tune stuff! Minor threat, Integrity, Necro are the ones that give me energy to start a new day!

Faygoluvers: Out of all the producing/beat making software, which do you think is the best or is your favorite?

I started with Acid Pro, but I’ve been using Cubase for years now..

Faygoluvers: Where do you come up with such elaborate beats?

I always try to mix differents samples in my production.. For example I can start a beat with an old ost piano, then add chinese sitar, soul pitched voices, seveties organ.. It’s all about mixing very different stuff to get a cool and psychedelic patchwork! I usually play real instruments on my samples too, for exemple I can add a new guitar or a bass line that I played myself..

Faygoluvers: Where can people buy your beats, or how can they get in touch with you about beats? How much is a typical beat?

Faygoluvers: What do you have coming up? Any CDs, merchandise, or beat sales coming up?

I already released two albums “Rap, ultra Violins & Beatmaking” and “Blood Out Connections,” you can order them on a few wabsites.. I also released a free project, “Lullabies For Insomniacs”, which is more on a abstract hiphop trip and which can be downloaded for free on my website www.altarba.com

Talking about the future, I’ll release an album with my band Droogz Brigade, and my other side project “Planet X”. I’m also working a whole album with Lord Lhus and a third album, stay tuned!!
