When I first started up doing this Underground Spotlight gig, Zkitzo’s track Kill This Bitch was featured on the weekly dope tracks. After the [email protected] was established, I was hit up shortly by him, and the interview was conducted.
I never heard of Zkitzo before hand, so I had to listen to a couple tracks to write up this interview. I myself have been diagnosed with a shit ton of mental illnesses too, so maybe I would relate to the lyrics and music presented to me. I got to admit this shit is pretty damn dope, and every ‘lo and ‘lette needs to check out his EP when it comes. So here’s Zkitzo for you, and the voices are after you…

Faygoluvers: The first thing I like to ask is why do you rap?
Zkitzo: Music has always been a huge part of me growing up. When I was younger, I was diagnosed with a shit load of mental disorders, and my shrink told me to write down my feelings. Well it turns out that writing down feelings turned into rhymes. It was my way to channel out my negative thoughts on paper. When I’m in the booth recording a track, whether i had a good day or not, it’s my escape. It’s where I get to truly show the world what I’m feeling inside, and it’s a no holds barrier. I like to bring out different styles as well, that can range from something funny to something that makes you say, “did he really just fucking say that!!?” I love peoples reactions to the music I do, whether it’s good or bad, it keeps me driven to do what I do best..and that’s make music.
Faygoluvers: How did you come up with the name Zkitzo?
Zkitzo: Ohhh man…real original right? Haha, no but seriously, I thought it suited me well. Every song I do has a different feel to it, different flow, different subject, different everything. Just like a skitzofrenic’s mind is. It’s all over the place always. I never do one thing alike..So it’s like my music is bipolar.
Faygoluvers: Who are some of your influences?
Zkitzo: Ya, know, this has always been a real tough question seeing as how believe it or not, I listen to everything…exept country,…THAT SHITS WACK..but anyways, I would honestly have to say it was artists like Rae-Kwon, Cormega, Necro, Canabis, ICP, Mars, all the way to Cannibal Corpse and fucking Gwar. My list is huge. I respect all artists for what they do, and being an artist myself, I think you can take what’s all around you and incorporate something unique.
Faygoluvers: What is your favorite Faygo flavor?
Zkitzo: MOON MIST MUTHAFUCKA!
Faygoluvers: You’ve been on Faygoluvers before. What was it?
Zkitzo: Yes, I actually had a single put out called ” Kill This Bitch,” which was produced by J Nyce [of Psych Ward]. Its going to be on an up and coming EP, and Faygoluvers was down with it so wit was featured on the Fresh Trax section the week of October 1st.
Faygoluvers: How long have you been rapping?
Zkitzo: I started actually rapping when I was 16. I would have to say because that’s when I did my first show…You gotta keep in mind, just because you have a Myspace page, it doesn’t make you rapper lol.
Faygoluvers: Who have you work/collaborated with?
Zkitzo: Well I have worked with a few local cats from the area. Artists like Dramatik Mike Skillz, Bile n Gore..just to name a few.
Faygoluvers: Who would you like to work with in the future?
Zkitzo: Theres a few actually, I’ve always wanted to link with Necro, Mars, J Reno. I’m in the process of linking with KidCrusher which is of course a huge fucking honor. I’ve talked wit Ill E Gal about doing something…you’ll have to wait and see.
Faygoluvers: What do you have up and coming? Any albums or mixtapes in the works?
Zkitzo: I actually have an EP dropping late October/mid-November called ” Escape from the Asylum.” This shit is gonna be dope..I got some funny tracks and some fucked-up brutal shit on this one..I’m exited for it..
Faygoluvers: When and where are your next few shows?
Zkitzo: Right now shows are on hold until at least Feb of 2011. I’m looking to get ABK and Mars out here…but like i said..it’s in the works. A lot of my time has been focused on this EP, and an album set for release in June of 2011.
Faygoluvers: Any other news that you’d like to mention?
Zkitzo: I’m now officially hosting my own radio show on ” the juggalo community community network” (www.tjcn.us) every Saturday night from 9-12 PM EST

Zkitzo: MY WIFE AND MY 2 LITTLE BOYS! Call me corny, but this woman has stuck through it thick and thin, and she always supports me. I couldn’t ask for a better mother like her..And on my homie Tip…Noah Curtis..12 years strong and goin’…Jesse over at Arch Angel, Stack Serious, Lo Key, Ill E Gal, KidCrusher, the whole team over at Faygoluvers.net, WEED, high gravity beers..cuz man them shits FUCK YOU UP, and of course all my juggalo family, and all 2000 fans on my page, which keeps growing, and I apreciate it!!..Oh yeah..and last but not least..the haters…gotta love em..
