I hope I been bring ya’ll some of the best on the underground circuit, I love doing it, and I do it for you fam. This time I bring you some boys off T.O.N.E-z and Big Ian’s mixtape. They are Rhyme Slayerz.

Now coming out of the frozen wasteland known as British Columbia, and working with the infamous Hopsin and SwizZz, this group consisting of Dave Renz and Derek Miller, Rhyme Slayerz are busting up microphones and mixtapes. Here’s my interview with the Canadian rap group. Enjoy homies…

Faygoluvers: Why do you guys rap?

DR: Fuckin why not? We got shit to say too!

DM: It’s like sex, you know you’re like sure yeah why not… let’s rap.

Faygoluvers: Where did you guys come up with the name Rhymeslayerz? Where did you come up your stage names?

Rhyme Slayerz: Rhyme Slayerz is all about slaying rhymes, duh! We kill the tracks. We don’t use stage names. It’s D & D ya’ll! D. RENZ AND D. MILLER! ALL KILLER NO FILLER!

Faygoluvers: Who are some of your guys’ influences?

DR: Mike E. Clark and Frank Zappa.

DM: I like to party, and when I go to a party I like to hear good music, but when I hear all that bunk shit like Usher and Akon. I get influenced by “real” music.

Faygoluvers: What are your guys’ favorite Faygo flavor?

DR: We’re Canadian EH! We don drink Faygo. Give us an eight pack of Lucky, and we’re straight.

DM: I’m down for maple syrup.

Faygoluvers: Who have you guys worked or collaborated with?

Rhyme Slayerz: Hopsin and SwizZz of Funk Volume were nice enough to hop on our latest track “We Don’t”.

Faygoluvers: Who have you guys opened for?

Rhyme Slayerz: We’re the headliners.

Faygoluvers: Who would you guys like to work with in the future?

DR: I’d like to work with the Funk VOlume crew again, but other than that Myzery, Mike E. Clark, Cage and Trent Reznor.

DM: Katy Perry and David Bowie.

Faygoluvers: What makes your group different than the rest?

DR: Nothing really. Just listen to Rhyme Slayerz. We will not dissappoint you. It’s good music so TURN IT UP!

DM: We write our own music.

Faygoluvers: You guys did a track for Big Ian’s mixtape Winter of Our Discontent. How did that come about?

Rhyme Slayerz: Sent in a track. He liked it and shit was good. Much love to the underground. T.O.N.E.Z was nice enough to put his name on that so you know it ain’t a bunch of bullshit. That cat is cool!

Faygoluvers: When and where are your next couple of shows?

Rhyme Slayerz: SOON! Most likely everywhere from Vancouver, BC to Calgary, AB, but that’s strictly speculation at this point. More importantly check out the split ep with Dereks band Black Hands. There will be 2 songs from each group and it will be available via the interweb.
