Out of Chicago’s underground, you will also find a group of individuals who stand out. One of them is Lep from Sicc~Writt~Itt, F.A.D.E. Entertainment, and Dead Each Day Productions. Lep and his brother Stitch (of Homicide) make their own style of rap in ways I can’t really describe. It is unique and different than the mainstream really has to offer, and the lyrics are good too.
On the eleventh of last month, they dropped their album called Midwest’s Finest featuring Snypa (of Talk Sick Productions), neRty, Dr. Phatz (who is funny as hell), and Death (of Homicide). Faygoluvers: What got you into rap?
Lep: Music has and always will be my passion, first time I heard a rap song “Early L.L. Cool J Days-Rock The Bells” I fell in love with the flow of the lyrics, just begin to build the interest in it… Although music has came along way, will never be the same to what I’m used to…
Faygoluvers: How did you come up with the name Lep? And Sicc~Writt~Itt?
Lep: Before I started recording, I knew I needed a name, being that all I grew up to was rap music, and it is where I get my inspiration from. When you listen to music as much as 28+ Years, it becomes like a siccness in your head and the only way to let it out is to write it, that’s the meaning of Sicc~Writt~Itt…
Lep (Leprechaun) was a name given to me in middle school in soccer, and it just stuck with me ever since…
Faygoluvers: What is your favorite Faygo flavor?
Lep: Moon Mist (Close enough to Mountain Dew)
Faygoluvers: What is with your beef with Sacrafice and Kazper?
Lep: Ight I’m gonna lay it out there, forget those two clowns,, I got beef with no one, but I’m not gonna let anyone get in the way of the things that keeps me happy… They both pissed at me because their lives suck,,Well like my Popz told me “Do sumthin about it.”
Faygoluvers: Does Dr. Phatz really pack super huge bowls?
Lep: Holy Shit Yeah! Have you seen this guy? He is not a small guy, so yeah, he needs his tree trunk blunts. Man, I’ve known him for over 15 years and his blunts just keep getting bigger and bigger.
Faygoluvers: Which artist(s) would you like to work with in the future?
Lep: Well Lets See I Have Worked With All The Underground Artist That I Know That Been Wanting To Work With, Any Of Those Guys From Homicide, Buck Rowdy, neRty, To Snypa, I Would Love To Do More Work With All Of Them,,,Looking Forward To Do The Other Collabs We Have Lined Up For The Next CD.
Faygoluvers: Who are your influences?
Lep: “Music wise” most would have to be Eminem. He has helped me through my darkest days… Just a long list from there, here is an idea: 2 Pac, Biggie Smalls, Brotha Lynch Hung, Gangsta Pat, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Mystikal, Cypress Hill, Jay Z, Dr. Dre, Busta Rhymes, Wu Tang, D12, Method Man…keeps going from the Dayton Family to RUN D.M.C.

Lep: Next gig planned is October 30th at Sharky’s, Round Lake, Il, Working on getting an all age show for November…
