Welcome to Episode Number Two of the “Underground Spotlight!!!.” Where we take some time out of our busy schedules to dig deep into the underground and uncover an up and comming artist! I’ma drop an interview, some pics, and a free mp3 download for each featured artists. Lets look at this as a way for the Juggalos to broaden their horizons and check out some new shit, and for some fresh ass new artists to spread the word about what they got goin on. So for our second edition of the Spotlight we head to an underground hotbed known as Allentown, PA. This place has a ton of underground hip hop goin on and at the fore front of it is juggalo homey H8trid!!! You know him from the million shows hes done, his free album download called “Support”, and alot of his past projects. So hit up the freshness below where you’ll find a full on interview, so read on!

Faygoluvers: So first off, tell us about H8Trid. i.e. where yer from, how long you been in the game, etc.

H8trid: I’m from the super famous Suburbs of Allentown,PA(minus the super famous part). I been writing rhymes since i’d say 10th grade or so because I couldnt pay attention on school with my ADD and all. But I started in a rock group with 2 other dudes…we sucked horribly. Than after the guitar player left me & the other member(You Might know him as D-RaNGD) Started a rap duo called Per-Verse. We started getting big in the underground. We had a pressed album called “Just When You Thought It Was Safe”. We had about a dozen shows. Got local radio play & all that good stuff. But than for one reason or ten others we broks up. When we broke up I went officially solo Feb. 2006. Wow, I just relized I went way more indept in the question than you asked…i’m an asshole.

Faygoluvers: What kind of projects have you worked on in the past?

H8trid: Well “Per-Verse- Just When You Thought It Was Safe” & A few other free albums and tracks we did. I did songs with Methotical(Of Stichez). Songs with REG. Other collabs here and there and my other 2 free EP “Who” & “NeXXXt Level”.

Faygoluvers: Whats currently in your cd player?

H8trid: Damn man…this is 2k7…its all about mp3 players…soo I’ll just say what i been bumpin latly McNastee – Pieces Of A Broken Man Cage – Hell’s Winter Dead Celeb Status – Blood Music Tech N9ne – Everready It’s all underground with me for the most part…underground music is the only music with meaning anymore.

Faygoluvers: Who have you worked with in the past and who do you wanna work with in the future?

H8trid: Man…i keep answering my own shit early…I worked with Stitchez, Delusional, Ill E Gal, Professor Fresh, D-RaNGD, Phatal, Kind, Real Chaos, Whitney Peyton, Special Keezie, Knomore, Frantik, Dan Tha Saltine & Cheevo. Everyone I worked with I think is the shit for real..and thats why I like to do tracks with em. In the future I’d love to do a track(s) with McNastee, Tech N9ne, Twiztid, Danny Boone Of Rehab, King Gordy or Tali Demon. All of them are sooo fuckin’ talented & people I look up too.

Faygoluvers: Every artist has good stories from the road, tell us one.

H8trid: Road stories hmmm. I’m telling 2 shorts ones…breaking the rules. 1st was when I played with Vanilla Ice last year. We went to the after party he was at & when he got there he was chuggin Jagrmeister & he was sooooo fucking trashed you couldnt understand a thing he was saying. And at the same party I met a hot ass girl(who later become my girlfriend) but I guess she came with G-Child(Yes, The one from VH1) and G-Child got mad pissed she was talking to me and told me “She’s going home with me tonight.” And so she did. So than I left the party with the 2 water girls I met at the show. -The next story coolest shit was a show in Columbus, OH. My boys Broken Fort live out there….they broke up now :-( , but them motherfuckers are my fam out there. I love them cats for real. My clique stayed out there all weekend and we had a fucking HUGE party at thier crib…it was nuts man. Straight Ohio Vs. PA shit…it was mad fun…we gotta away with murder that night…the cops that came didnt even give a shit what we were doing. it was fresh…along with building an old school child fort in our hotelroom that covered the whole thing. Faygoluvers: If someone asked you to describe your music, what would you tell them?

H8trid: I tell them….Rap With A Rock Attitude. Reality rap….no gangsta shit…no fake shit…I rap about how I live & what I know and experiance. Cept now and than i’ll do a ridiculous track but they are for laughs and you should be able to figure that shit out.

Faygoluvers: What label are you signed with, if any, and tell us about them.

H8trid: SideStream Records(S2R) It’s an Independent broke ass but very dedicated lable ran by me. It’s been though alot ups and downs but SideStream means alot to me. “Fitting In By Standing Out” is the motto. Right now the roster is Me, REG & Cheevo. With 2 more local cats we are looking to add.

Faygoluvers: Whats yer drink of choice?

H8trid: Caribou Lou…3 of them bitches made right and ure fucked up b4 u know it…saves money at the bars. Non-alchohol- Dr. Pepper & Cherry Coke all day till i get kidney stones in 4 years.

Faygoluvers: Whats yer favorite city/venue to play in?

H8trid: The freshest city I played in was Columbus. Favorite Venue is Crocodile Rock in Allentown, PA

H8trid: This is where i have to sell myself huh? In all honosty tho…thats something you gotta listen to and judge for yourself…

Faygoluvers: What do you think of the current state of the “industry?”

H8trid: I think its at an all time low. For real. What happened to music that had meaning? At least 2pac, DMX & Bone Thugs & cats like that have heart in thier music. Now its about fucking stupid ass grills, wheels, and a bunch of bullshit that dosent matter. I don’t give a fuck how many cars this fucks have. And when did it become cool for dudes to look like chicks? wtf? quit cryin.

Faygoluvers: Favorite movie?

H8trid: Freddy Got Fingered, Freddy Vs. Jason, Wet Hot American Summer, Dawn Of The Dead Remake, X-Men 2

H8trid: Well first I got a concert April 14th With Vanilla Ice, G-Child(Of VH1) & D-Rangd at Crocodile Rock in Allentown, PA.
