Dirty Charlie

Sup juggalos and juggalettes and true believers alike. It’s your boy BeZerk here with ya with another interview of full flavored freshness. This time, I bring you an interview I have been slacking on, don’t know why, just shit kinda fell thru the cracks for the past couple months.

Coming out of the crazy conservative land known as Arizona, Dirty Charlie is sure as hell one dirty motherfucker. The first time I heard him, I was blown away. Lyrics are fucking dope, production is great, beats are cool. You can’t go wrong.

Opening for Tech N9ne, E-40, Mars, Twiztid, and more; Dirty shows that he ain’t a little bitch on the market. He kills competition almost more then the Nazi’s does to Jews. Fuck yeah, I just made a Hallocaust joke. Well, until next time juggalos, excelsior!!!

Interview for: Dirty Charlie
Real Name: Charlie Bennett
From: Phoenix, AZ
Rolls With: Virus Music/Green Leef Productions

Faygoluvers: Why do you rap?

Dirty Charlie: I grew up listening to a lot of punk rock and metal music. My cousin was all into gangster rap and he used to bump shit like Tupac and Public Enemy every time we kicked it. I didn’t really get into rap until I shoplifted a copy of The Great Milenko from the record store by accident. Once I heard that style of rap, and what I.C.P. was all about I absolutely fell in love with rap music especially the wicked shit. I was always into writing stories, poetry, and shit like that but it wasn’t until many years down the road when me and my homie Keepa Green Leef decided to start making and putting out our own style of wicked shit under the name Homicidal Youth, when we were like 16. So if it wasn’t for me stealing the Great Milenko, then I probably wouldn’t be a rapper or maybe I would be.

Faygoluvers: How did you come up with the name Dirty Charlie?

Dirty Charlie: Back in the day I was in and out of juvy hall. At one point I was in a group home for 22 months, I had smuggled in some weed and coke and got busted by one of the officers who worked there. He wanted me to submit to a urine test, so I kept telling him to fuck off, ‘cuz I knew I was fucked, and he called me “dirty” Charlie like he knew my piss would come up dirty, and the name stuck like nuts busted on a hookers back.

Faygoluvers: Who are some of your influences?

Dirty Charlie: My family and close homies! I love my parents and my siblings, because they encourage me every step of the way to accomplish my dreams and goals. The JUGGALOS! Man, my life would be so different if I wasn’t a juggalo, I’ve had so many good times, and met so many awesome people just because I was a juggalo. So, that’s definatly a huge influence on my career as well as in life in general.

Faygoluvers: What’s your favorite Faygo flavor?

Dirty Charlie: Lately it’s been kiwi strawberry, but you can never go wrong with an ice cold Faygo root beer.

Faygoluvers: What makes you unique from other artists?

Dirty Charlie: I think what separates me as an artist from other artists is that I am exactly what I say I am. I dont bullshit man. I write about what I know and love, the music that i make is a reflection of how I live and what I do on a regular basis. When I’m up on stage rocking a show, or in the studio laying down a verse what your gonna see or hear is me! Even when I go to work flipping burgers on the corner of 7th street and Bell road, I’m still the same scrubby ass ninja rapping my ass off having a good time, its just what I do.

Faygoluvers: Who have you worked with?

Dirty Charlie: I’ve worked with Keepa Green Leef (the most underrated unheard dopest producer on earth) Intrinzik, McNastee, Virus, Roach Clip, Awesome TY, Masonic Minds, Psycho Sick Asylum.

Faygoluvers: Who would you like to work with in the future?

Dirty Charlie: I’m the type of dude who loves to work with anybody and everybody who has the same love for the craft as I do. I would love to work with anybody on Psychopathic Records, because that’s what I love the most, Rob Zombie, Too short, Kung Fu Vampire, Mars, Ice Cube, KottonMouth Kings, Tech N9ne, Esham, Daniel Jordan, Brotha Lynch Hung, and of course Michael Jackson!!! Too bad he’s dead. God bless his perverted soul.

Faygoluvers: Who have you opened or headlined for?

Dirty Charlie: I’ve opened up for Mars, SKR, Intrinzik, Krizz Kaliko, Blaze Ya Dead Homie, Anybody Killa, Knocturnal, Tech N9ne, E-40, and Twiztid.

Faygoluvers: What do you have coming up for the future? Any CDs, mixtapes, merchandise, etc coming out?

Dirty Charlie: I have just finished my first full length solo album entitled “100 and Dirty Percent” fully produced and mastered by my homie Keepa Green Leef, we also have an album called “Dug Up From The Dirt” coming out soon which happens to be an album with a bunch of old school tracks from some of my past projects that never made the light of day.

Faygoluvers: Shout outs?

Dirty Charlie: First off I want to thank my family without them I obviously wouldn’t be here. Next Keepa Green Leef for making all my music sound as dope as it possibly can be. To all my homies back home in California and also all my down ass friends I have across the world. I want to thank Intrinzik and Virus for giving me the opportunities to rep my music to the fullest out here in Arizona. I want to throw a big shout out to Mercede Voorhees and the Zona Los for promoting all my music and shows out here in Arizona. I want to thank FaygoLuvers.net for giving this dirty ass mutha fucka a chance to explain my story and what I do. And a big mutha fuckin Whoop Whoop to all the Juggalos and Juggalettes across the galaxy. And of course a shout out to all the ladies out there who love to give some bomb head, holler at me when I’m in your city.
