Faygoluvers: How does it feel to finally have your disc hitting the streets and your no longer hyping DGAF up?
Chucky: First of all I love ur guys’s site im a faygo lover for life juggalo love… but ya back to the question im always going to be hyping DGAF up u know what i mean and as far as the album hitting the streets i feel like a kid in a candy store….. Im glad that i finally got some shit together with the rite group of people that i was satisfied with the out come of the record, “a dream come true”..
Faygoluvers: Well 1st off i just like to say “DGAF” and what up to all the JUGGALOS out there WORLD WIDE too!!! HALLOWICKED 2006 CHUCKY kicking FAYGO all the way to the back DGAF and HAVE A BLAST!!!HAHAHA we laughing….. ” Damn Right We Did It” IT feels really fucking good to have a record out its still settling in! The whole exprience is been insane its a trip to sit back and get stoned & think about where my life has been..shits fucking crazy were hittin the streets hard on this record we come from an underground label suburban noize so we some sub noize rats flooded the st. with the DGAF record eat at ur feet..Will allways be hyping up DGAF and were never gonna STOP!!!!!
Faygoluvers: Chucky, when was it that you had met Gillies and how was it you two decided you wanted to mix shit up?
Chucky: Well I met Gillies in 1998 Hermosa Beach Pier 6:30 in the morning surf class. He was in the water waiting for waves and freestyle rapping I paddled up to him started batteling him and rite there we knew we were going to mix shit.
Faygoluvers: Also, what was it like once Subnoize decided to offer you a deal to go with it and do your thing?
Chucky: Well i was never really offred a deal with Subnoize I was just always a part of the family and everyone always knew i was going to do something.. So when the time came that i signed the dotted line it was like i wanted to doa tripple back flip. Thats when i made the call and told Gillies to come to the studio and get on the album cause that was our dream finally coming true..
Gillies: It’s not that simple there’s a lot of foot work to get where we are now..Its not like Kevin zinger just woke up one day and decide togive us a deal. We been part of the sub noize family 4 along time now DGAF was est.n 1998 so where ten years deep its more than just a record or the group, its a WORLD WIDE UNDERGROUND, LIFESTYLE ,FAMILY MOVEMENT !!!!
Faygoluvers: Gillies, you’re an established artist in the So-Cal punk style, what made you want to flip the script?
Gillies: Well i grew in Hermosa Beach the land of the punks i grew up listeing to bands like BLACK FLAG,PENNYWISE,SMUT PEDLLERS, N.W.A etc… I use to live n a van on my friends floors,couch tour,garges whatever it was a punk lifestyle drink fuck and fight..My friends who i used too live with they started this band called STDs some true punx.TREE the bass player was allways in and out of jail so i played when he was gone i was there manger anyways..We fuck shit up did a lot of networking also i was rodeing 4 KMK & used to listen to humble gods DADDY X is got that punk hip hop flavor so does kmk witch are major influnces in DGAF so mix all that up and we still PUNK so i really never thought about flipping the script when im on stage or in the fuckin store im still GILLIES…
Faygoluvers: When can we look forward to seeing the group DGAF as a whole on the road for the album?
Chucky: Starting May 6th with Subnoize Souljas, Danny Diablo, and Potluck
Gillies: Were hittn the road here pretty soon in MAY with the SUB NOIZE CAMP ,SUBNOIZE SOULJAZ,DANNY D,POT LUCK,DGAF and i forget who else so be one the look out for the tour dates DGAF headed state to state. We got mad DGAFamily all over so i cant wait to get out there & start rockn them shows blazen them bowls..stashn the weed n AZ and shit like that. THE DGAF TOUR IS GONNA B ONE TO REMBER coming to a town near you!!!
Faygoluvers: What could we expect it to be like in the crowd at one of those shows?
Chucky: Stoned, Drunk, Sweaty, Bloody and by the end of the nite Deaf…. haha haha
Gillies: Over packed fire marshall tryn to shut it down! Big pit going on in the middlle at times. middle fingers in the air,smoked out stoners,punk rock hip hop ,one falls pick him up..Fine ass honeys up to the top not give a fuck ..Full of engery and exmient at all times..BUTTERFLYS IN YOUR STOMACH!!!! DGAF…
Faygoluvers: When in the studio, what is it like during any given session, because DGAF is go hard or go home. So is it straight insanity or what?
Chucky: Every session is pure fire with Kumagui producing ithe brings the HEAT Brad X master minding hes got the LIGHT.Saint Dog and Big Hoss they Bring the Drugs. and Me and Gillies are pinching eachother to find out if were dreaming or not. Now that i look back and listen to the album to break it down it was “CONTROLED SANITY” all thrill no fill..
Gillies: The studio is a blessing to have at the noize we usally go after hours when everybody gone so we can smoke and drink Hoss and Saint usally show up late with some sort of drugs and me and Chucky r try to rally up some change for dell taco..We spend a lot of time in the studio we wrote most the songs up there with KUMAGAI he is a master at what we does…All of us work good togther each one of us is allways bring new ideas to the table..as far as it being crazy n shit its not like bitchs are top less runinng around and beers all over the place….
Faygoluvers: Embeded within your lyrics are many inuendos and straight spits about chronic rips, on a regular day how much would each of you say you burn?
Chucky: Well then Pass that jont to the left rite now puff puff pass ima show u how grab a spliff and hit it puff again get with it then blow it out smooth and ask who else wana hit it. cause ima vet when it comes tot he topic of blazing and every hit I take is simply amazing. Ima hench men till death “weeds always comin out my breath” ill smoke it all up even the resin thats left.
Gillies: I got seven different flavoras and wonderfull kinds this shit right here will blow your mind hahahah i feel just fine smokein this weed like all of the time,puff puff pass keep it moven down the line, dont bogart that shit the last hits mineeeeeee……..
Faygoluvers: How’s the future looking for this group of subnoize misfits?
Chucky: Thess Subnoize misfits are greatful as fuck and as long as i keep on the track that were on tell the future to bring it on we DON’T GIVE A FUCK remeber…
Gillies: WE STARTED AT THE BOTTOM AND WERE HEADED TO THE TOP DGAF AND We NEVER GONNA STOP!!!!!!! GILLIES………
