Taylor Schilling set to star in New Movie “Fam-i-ly” that could be Heavily Juggalo Influenced

Taylor Schilling (which a lot of you may know as Piper from Orange is the New Blackhas closed a deal to star in a new movie called Fam-i-ly.

Not too much has been revealed about the movie but we do know that it is a comedy and that the plot centers around Taylor and her 13-year-old niece who desperately wants to become a Juggalo. This has been reported on by both Yahoo and The Hollywood Reporter.

Taylor Schilling has closed a deal to star in the indie Fam-i-ly, the directorial debut of writer Laura Steinel, perhaps best known for her work on Amazon comedy Red Oaks.

Sue Naegle and Jeremy Garelick are producing.

The script, which was written by Steinel, centers on the relationship between an emotionally stunted aunt (Schilling) and her 13-year-old niece, who wants nothing more than to run away from home and become a juggalo. A juggalo is a term used for extreme fans of a subset of hip-hop who have developed their own social group and lingo. (Yes, it’s a real thing.)

Steinel is carving her own niche in the comedy world with her writing and has several projects set up around town. The biggest among them is Women in Business, in development at Fox with Emma Stone, Kate McKinnon and Jillian Bell attached to star.

Schilling is the lauded star of Netflix’s drama Orange Is the New Black, which wraps production on its fifth season this week. She will shoot The Public, a much anticipated ensemble drama to be directed by Emilio Estevez, this winter before starting Fam-i-ly. The actress also has a couple of movies in the can: sci-fi pic The Titan, which also stars Sam Worthington, and Take Me.

So there ya go. If this does indeed become a reality we will definitely keep you posted, ninjas.

Awesome! A show relating to Juggalos staring a popular and attractive mainstream television actress. I’m sure we won’t be misrepresented at all. ☺?

And I’ll bet anything they’re gonna make us all look like the worst caricatures possible. I don’t believe this is to be applauded, but only time will tell.

I what type of verbal gymnastics they will use to keep mentions of “Insane Clown Posse” by name to a minimum. Maybe use a parody group? Could they pull this off without name-checking ICP at all?

I see this going really bad for juggalos. I feel it’s gonna reinforce the gang labeling on us. I mean honestly, has anyone ever “ran away to become a juggalo”? Already sounds like some gang shit

I’m honestly willing to bet this is going to make us look like the most barbaric mother fuckers out there, like complete fucking asswipes. I’ll watch this, for sure, to at least review it. But any time Juggalo’s are on TV, it’s not for something good…
