D/FW Juggalos: Don’t miss Texas Frightmare Weekend! (April 29th – May 1st)

Texas Frightmare Weekend (TFW) is an annual horror movie convention that happens in the D/FW area of Texas. This will be its 11th year, but only its fourth year at its current location: Hyatt Regency at the DFW airport. It began at the Grapevine Convention Center in Grapevine, Tx. It moved in 2012 to the Hyatt Regency to expand the space to accommodate the growing crowd. It now boasts 93,000 square feet of event space and 800 rooms! Now that’s a big convention! This year is also hosted by Fangoria.

This year boasts quite the guest appearances including Rose McGowan, Robert Englund, George A. Romero, Peter Criss of KISS, James Remar (Warriors), Kane Hodder, Matthew Lillard, David Arquette, and so many more! Autographs, photo ops, and selfies are available with most of these guests with prices ranging from $20-$60. Photo ops are available via Wolf Studios Photography. You can purchase these photo ops through www.texasfrightmareweekend.com.

If that’s not enough to convince you yet, there’s also screenings! Texas Theatre will be hosting screenings of From Dusk Til’ Dawn and The Warriors, both for $12. If you’d rather catch something free you have the option of catching some free screenings at the convention. These screenings include Getting Schooled, Bite, and a secret screening!! For the full list of screenings make sure to check the TFW website. Personally I’m most excited about the screening of Bite!

Want more? How about parties? Friday night you can catch the Friday night party. I’ve heard these parties get pretty wild so catching this one might be a pretty good time. Also for you karaoke nuts you can catch Scaryoke on Sunday night. Who doesn’t want to belt out some horror movie hits?

For more info hit up www.texasfrightmareweekend.com for ticket prices and a full schedule. Discount tickets are only available up until April 26 at midnight central time. Personally I’d suggest the weekend pass for $65.00, which is the discounted price. After April 26th the price goes up to $75.00. T-shirts and pint glasses are also available. Don’t miss out on the southwest’s premiere horror convention: April 29th – May 1st!
