just wondering since they've been back for almost 2 years now and all they've released is their greatest hits album.And there was an interview with Violent J earlier this year where he said that we should be expecting releases from all psy (excluding Zug and Vanilla Ice). So my question is do yall think we could expect a new Zug Izland cd this year or do you think we have to wait til next year??? jw your thoughts

Ah yes. The box set. It was promoted in last year's Gathering program and we announced a Christmas release last year. Violent J even held up the box on an episode of "ICP Theater." Then...nothing. What happened? I'll tell you.
Basically we underestimated the amount of corporate red tape that we'd have to jump through to put this thing together. Since one album is owned by Sony and two others are owned by Universal, you have to weed your way through A LOT of legal bullshit. It takes a LONG ass time. We are hoping to release the set in the later part of this year--that way, we can buy some time to get all the legal staleness out of the way. But we have the box all designed, some extra flavor created for it and it's going to be dope as fuck. Believe me, WE want to release this baby as soon as possible...and rest assured we will.

haha well fuck.. hopefully by now they're aware Dog Beats aint enough incentive for most of us who already have all 6.. new exclusive album covers would be fresh.. obviously keep the jokers card image the same but upgrade the background maybe? idk..

frankly the only reason I would buy the box set (i have at least 1 copy of each as it is, most I have 2 copies) is for new tracks that were recorded for each card and not used at the time. New artwork doesnt do shit for me

man I saw that fool in a Macaroni and cheese commercial. dude don't have time to make an album with all the shit he is doing. even if he did, it would be halfassed and rushed. I was never really a fan of his music, except a handful of shit form the 90s.

seriously though, Zug has some neat tunes. I enjoy Prison Song, Fly, Hiroshima, Small Town, Cry, Always, Dreams, The River, Sunny Day. They got interesting sounds.

In any case, I'd be happy to check out some new Zug. As OMD said, they've had some great tracks (9/10 of them on Cracked Tiles, mind you.) And if J's writing their lyrics again, it could be a good project.
Fuck knows it'll be more interesting than AMB or Vanilla Ice.
