It's dope for sure - only thing is that nothing seems to stick in my head like previous dl albums. .  the hooks seem to be all over the place and I don't notice madrox as much

My sacrifice hasn't fully went out from the pills I gave them to start listening to it yet. The screaming doesn't bother me....it gets fucking annoying after awhile

I've been listening to it for most of the day. In all honesty, it is probably one of my favorite Psy releases in years, if not of all time. It's deep to the point that it's rather difficult to swallow the possibility that they wrote the lyrics (given the most likely possibility that they did in fact write the lyrics. Nearly every song is on point. A journey is retold in their own way.

But the real fact here is that when together, they simply can not be stopped. I've been disappointed with most of Psys releases for a while now (giving exception to Abadon), and when Twiztid and Blaze left Psy, Psys output suffered greatly. And the past few self-releases by Twiztid were slightly above average than anyone else out there, but was way below they're abilities. I hope this leads to another colab album.

The album is fuckin amazing. Only track that is so so to me is price of life. Its very different soundin from anything done before but its fantastic. Very weird very creepy but also very deep at times. Love it! Anxiously waiting on my physical copy in the mail. And i agree with the previous ninja. When they work together magic happens.

If I had to guess, I would say they started this album at the beginning of the year or so. Some of the verses sound rushed. Madrox and mono def went in on the whole cd tho I have no complaints from them what so ever, but at times I feel like ICP and blaze struggled with their flow. Not every track is like that but there definitely are some where you can tell the lyrics were wrote very quick and just sloppy as all hell. I think if they were given a few more months or so this could of been the best lotus album ever released. This definitely comes in as my 2nd fave lotus album though. I've listened to it probably 10 or more times. Blaze opening up lotus was the shit. As soon as he yelled supriseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee it just sets the album off great. and I love garden of evil.

I'm really, really hoping this opened a new world for J and he takes this creativity from this record for the next icp album. All I know is if MEC ain't down to do the next icp joint I will gladly take Kuma, Seven and Frittz to produce the next ICP album. Everytime psy touches a seven beat it turns into magic.. I don't think anyone can fuck with sevens work.

agreed...you can tell it was rushed here and there but nothing too drastic to make me just unable to play the song....like you said Blaze and Shaggy seemed to struggle the most with those faster beats (J a few times as well) but overall I actually thought they did a really good job with it...and yeah the production was great on here Kuma, Seven, and Fritz all did their fucking thing and I'd love for them to return to produce the next Lotus album

still cant play through 45 mins..that chorus is just lame as fuck. only song that I cant listen to. i love garden of evil too..still trying to decide if death in a jar is genius or mediocre? Im diggin that and my head is haunted more and more though..very weird and different songs for a lotus record.

Well, that was a different album than I was expecting. I'm pleasantly surprised for the most part, as after hearing My Kinda Party, I thought the album might end up being a complete let down. Here's my thoughts on the album...

- ABK should have been on every track. He killed it on "Villainous", and would have brought more flavor to each track. He's back on the label now, so I think it would have made more sense to let him back in the group than have him on a single song.

- The beats were very on-and-off. Some were excellent (i.e. Garden Evil, The Drought, Let It Rain), some were mediocre (i.e. 45 Minutes, Morbid, Death in a Jar). I blame this on the mixed production. The album is sorely missing Eric Davie's masterful production from The Opaque Brotherhood.

- The rhyming is a little under par on some tracks

- "The Drought" & "Let It Rain" are some of the best songs ever released on the label. Amazing stuff

- I really hated that guy's voice on the skits

- I actually loved the chorus to "45 Minutes", sounded wicked and was the best part of the song. I also loved "Price of Life". Great concept

- "Debbie in the Dark" could have been a lot better with a better chorus

- J was really lazy on some of his verses

To sum it up, it's a good album. Not as good as it could be, but much better than expected

Fritz was awsome.. until he became a full blown alcoholic. I heard that's why they stopped working together.
He's just like mr. Lahey now

I feel like the mixing on Price of Life could have been better...sound muffled at times and reminded me of that Green Book mixing that everyone despised haha (btw would be great if they mastered that album someday...highly doubt it will happen but I'm allowed to dream lol)...I actually really like the 45 Minutes beat and thought they all did great with the rapping on it...the chorus is growing on me a bit idk...reminds me of something a Strange Music artist would use (I think it was a Seven beat so that might explain it but idr and too lazy to go back a few pages to check lol)

Fritz the cat did a beat for Dark Half and it was like the shittiest song from that album. So, when I first saw that he did the beat for Price Of Life I kind of knew I wasn't going to like that song and what do you know, it was my least favorite song from the album.

I'm not going to point out any positives. I'm just going to create a large list of negatives and everything I didn't like about the album before I say I liked the album.

I'm also going to act as if I am some sort of professional musical genius and criticize every itty bitty flaw that they made and tell them that it could have been better as if I am some sort of veteran in the game and they are only rookies who haven't been doing this for 20+ years.

If you watch the icp seminar J talks bout people saying verses were sent thru email and stuff. Wonder if he seen that on here cause I remember people saying it earlier in the thread. Lol
