Well, actually, that's only partly true. If only I could find my goddamn poems, I could show it better... But my favorite I wrote, named "Alone", well, I suppose that one's inspiration is self evident from its title. "Remember Me When I'm Gone" I wrote as a letter to my friends and family with the intent to seal it and have it opened upon my death (whenever that ended up being). I then actually adapted/changed it and used it as a eulogy at my grandmother's funeral a couple years ago.

Most of mine came from a dark place within the soul, themed around loneliness, abandonment, the life/death cycle, and pondering the soul itself. Then there were a few which were inspired by anger or hatred, the best of which has been entirely lost to the sands of time (I believe my parents still have a copy, but will not give it to me because of the circumstances surrounding it), and has a LOOOONG story attached to it. I will pester them about it, and see if I can get ahold of a copy - if so, I'll provide it along with the backstory, otherwise the story is irrelevant without the poem.

Long story short, like you Psyral, I once tested at the genius level (albeit 18 years ago, and prior to ~5 years of drugs frying my brain a bit), and have not been able to tap into any form of natural creativity since I was a kid.

So, I guess I wrote all this to reply "Uh, I dunno, @Psyral-infection."

EDIT: Shoulda read the rest of the thread beyond Psyral's post. @Lucem-ferre, that little bit of verse is straight up badass. THAT is the kind of stuff that's right up my alley.

Thanks man, I just found it and forgot I wrote it and went, "man, that' s some crazy shit, I should share it"

I appreciate that anyone checked the thread out. btw I just call it poetry cause that's what OCJ_Brendan would call it. Sean law, I'm definitely not this person but dig horror somewhat and decided to write it. I think warlock is right when he says it sounds dated because my biggest influences are from the golden era.

And Lucem thanks for saying that. I get what he means though. It used to annoy me hearing Tech or Em bend (or flat out mispronounce) words to rhyme. I can't lie, I feel honored that not only one but three of FLH's biggest internet rappers are critiquing  my shit or looking or skimming in sean's case. But all three of you are nice with the pen and I respect that.

Don't be so honored, none of us are shit. We just dudes who rap, we ain't really accomplish shit.

My only advice is make what YOU like whether it's songs about teddy bears or raping babies. As long as you like it.
