A lot of effort can be put into something that I still will wind up unsatisfied with for reasons beside "lack of effort", which didn't occur here.

1. Yeah, ya do, man. 

2. If YOU are the one doing the album and that's the best you can say about it, why would not expect others to react negatively?

3. Assuming that's true and you're not just grasping at straws, that's all all the more reason why would should stick around here and get some advice from people that, at the very least, know a little more about the shit than you. If that's you puttin in a lot of effort, you need help. Which is cool, man. Everyone has early project they're not proud of. Shit, there's a whole topic dedicated to it on here. 

4. Rude doesn't mean he's not being helpful. If you want people to pat you on the back and tell you that you did a good job when you didn't, you clearly came to the wrong spot, man. That's why NONE of my shitty music is on here.

you aint had to get the album out by the 'release date';  you aint had to have it out at all.

seriously, and if your gunna go ahead and do it anyway, dont make excuses and do a good job of it.

shit if people like me, jiffylong and sean law can pound out passably mixed music, youve got no excuse.

we all work with setups that cost us less than 500 bucks.

money is only an excuse if your employing the services of a professional studio and engineers and shit. if lucem ferre was putting out shit quality music i would rage at him too.

dont know how to mix yourself? everyone here near enough is self taught. go watch youtube videos.

i dont claim to know everything, but at least i try to ahve a modicum of professionalism in my work.

this is my latest single. i mixed all the vocals (except the hook) myself.

My flow was good on a few tracks and weak on "Atheist Anthem" and "Rapping Atheist", but I was trying to do multiple styles of rapping on one album to vary things up so it wouldn't sound boring which is liable to happen on a solo rap album because you don't have multiple voices.

I couldn't mix the album the way I wanted because it was rushed into release due to my financial difficulties at the moment.

And "Fuck the Pope" was written based on the fact that the Pope is attacking wealth-creators but is sitting on uncountable amounts of money that he didn't earn.

I pulled the album as a business decision and an artistic decision because I wasn't happy with it and it sold poorly.

Also Novocaine, The Blue Collar King, it was priced at $7 because I'd released solo progressive rock albums under my real name and thought the same people who bought my non-rap music would buy a rap album from me. I was wrong.

if you want pointers on what your doing, check out Lucem Ferre, he is our local 'atheist rapper'. hes doing what your doing, only doing a good job of it.

get back to the drawing board, listen to what people here say, check out other peoples stuff and perhaps collab with anyone willing (PM me if your interested, ill collab with anyone at least once) and then perfect what you do over the course of a year or 10 and then start charging people.

Maybe try to learn the basics before trying to be experimental. I used to be known as a fairly asshole critic in horrorcore because i kept shit very very very honest and i literally closed out of the first song after 15 seconds.

You can't run before you walk. You kinda sound like you wanna be death grips but the thing is mc ride knows about production value and rhythm and music theory. You gotta know the rules before you can break em. You know?

You say you been down for ten years. Dope. How long you been rapping is all that matters to me and i sincerely hope you just started the week you recorded this. 

I'm in the process of making a shitty experimental rap song myself and I'm basically trying to be garbage and its taken me three months so far. You gotta hone your art. Flex it. Twist it inside out. Start over a simple beat and just try landing on beat. Hit the snares.

I love this show that used to be on mtv, maybe you can find it online. It's called made. In the show, a kid writes in about a goal they have and the show sends them a coach and they film the process. Sometimes it was wack shit like i wanna be made into prom queen but when the people wanted to be musicians i always learned a lot. 

One episode the coach took the kid into a grocery store and had him freestyle about what ever he was buying. Just spent the entire trip getting him to spit stupid shit about potatoes and cheese and cookies and milk etc. Just everything. The point was to get the kid to throw away lines to force him to hear his voice and to challenge him to think on his feet. 

Do that for a few years and then come back and maybe your shit won't sound like you don't know what you're doing.
