thats pretty much the only thing in your post that matters...if your from vancouver & follow hiphop i believe you've heard of him...but the rest of us beyond vancouver have never/will never give a fuck about dude & the only reason any of us have ever heard of him is cause of the track swollen put him on.your a fan of him and thats great, enjoy it.personally, i think dude is a slightly above average MC w/a corny voice that tries too hard, but thats just me.

not sure how anyone from vancouver thats familiar w/how much madchild has done for the city could be so quick to want to tear him down cause some local dude is trying to make a name off him, but thats your right.

I grew up in Victoria which is on Vancouver Island, about a 1 hour and 45 minute ferry ride from the mainland, where Vancouver is located.

Prevail is from Victoria too, he is 2 years older than me, but we mixed in the same scene.

Let's just say Madchild has been talking shit about the Canadian Hip Hop scene in interviews for about the last year and a half, since he moved to Los Angeles basically.

Then he threw some outright disses our way on Silver Tongue Devil.

Madchild can only redeem himself in my eyes by reuniting Swollen Members asap to make a dope album.

this is pure delusion...dude could not go further out of his way to show love/respect to canada/vancouver.

Here I present to you the disses to Vancouver/Canada from Madchild, on Silver Tongue Devil-

First Diss- Track 3 Devils and Angels

                     "Livin' in my rainy city it was all wrong

                      Used to be the big fish in a small pond"

 

Here Madchild refers to Vancouver's music scene as a "small pond". That is not a compliment. He also shares with us that he felt "all wrong" living there.

 

Second Diss- Track 7 Mental

 

                     "I'm mental That's just the way that it goes, dog
                      Canadian but you can keep the rain and the snowballs
                      I love palm trees, sitting in the sunshine
                      Learning quick - my rhymes, they are ridiculously sublime"

 

Now Madchild talks directly to his fanbase in Canada, telling them they can keep their shitty weather, he is much happier living in sunny L.A. , thank you very much.

 

Third Diss- Track 9 Jackal

 

                     "Yo, I changed my habitat to palm trees from tabernac"

 

In the opening line to this song Madchild refers to Vancouver as "tabernac", one of the worst curse words you can use in French Canada.

 

Fourth Diss- Track 14 Slayer

 

                     "Moved to the USA cause shit was killing me
                      High toxicity with zero visibility"

 

Madchild isn't exactly "hyping" the Canadian music scene he claims to be so proud of, with a rhyme like that.

 

I will find those interview quotes tomorrow for you Burr, but as you can tell, I have plenty of facts to back up my shit talk.

 

 

To be honest w/ya mr.Velka, i thought you were kidding @first.as a fan of hiphop, i'm sure you know what consitutes a "diss".a diss is speaking badly about someone/thing w/negative intentions.a diss is undebatable.a diss is disrespectful.

these examples you pulled from Silver Tongue Devil?...not even close.so you dont want madchild to rap about being a goblin constantly, but than when he writes about his life and what he has been up to (moving to LA) that is offensive somehow?you seem to be under the impression that representing Vancouver includes blindly never speaking honestly about its weather/air quality...im sorry it hurts you, but madchild moved to LA for the opportunities it offers & nicer weather.as i already said, madchild even goes out of his way & ends the album by stating how much he loves/appreciates canada/vancouver.was that sarcasm?was that deceitful?

just out of curiosity, are your views on this just your own or felt throughout the vancouver hiphop scene?...its kinda scary how people twist things when they decide they want to tear someone down.i mean look @ronda rousey, it always disturbs me how much humans love building up people to unreal heights, just to tear them down and point&laugh.

anyways, i'm still looking forward to the disses mad made in interviews...ill give you the benefit of the doubt for now and assume they are much more damaging than the "disses" off silver tongue devil
