I believe it was at the first Strange Noize tour. After the show, my friends and I were walking up to the merch booth and to talk to Krizz Kaliko who was meeting people and signing autographs. I spy a $100 bill on the ground. So, being stupid Pigg, instead of pocketing it, I hold it up and exclaim to my friends "look a $100 bill!" Krizz Kaliko notices. He comes over, tells me it was lost from the merch booth. Once again, being stupid Pigg, (and being intimidated by his sheer size. I mean, I was like 13 or 14 ) I gave it to him.

that was incredibly dumb.

but krizz kaliko does cut a scary figure. so i understand. probably peed your pants too didnt you.

Sometimes I'm lacking in the common sense department, plus I was like 13, and I'm awkward as fuck. Needless to say it will never happen again, mostly because I'll never find a $100 bill again.

Let's up the ante a little bit, cuz I love this particular scenario. What if you found a bag full of money on the side of the road. A dick load of money, but the kicker is you know its stolen. Someone robbed a store or a bank. Do you keep it or turn the money in to the police?

This kinda happened to me and a boy of mine when we were 15.  We had been car hopping all night and only went back to this car we had been in previously because it had a skid of bottled water in the back seat and we were mad thirsty.  We found a book of CDs and some movies too so we popped the trunk quietly to look at what else was there.  We found a bad with almost 20k in it in small bills in a beach bag in the trunk.  We split it 50/50 and went home.  We lasted about three days without mentioning it to anyone but if youve ever been poor and gotten a shitload of cash you know that wont last.  To make it worse it was Christmas season.

I got the bright idea of giving everyone I was cool with 100 bucks for Christmas and some of the closer people too me got as much more (I literally bought a chick a horse)  but time was short and I only had one day before we all scattered for winter break.  I foolishly brought envelopes full of money and handed them out before school.  By lunch I was a celebrity with people running up to me going "Hey remember me from 6th grade wheres my money" and it just got out of hand.

The cops pulled me (and my boy who had gotten the bright idea from me and handed out money to people he knew) outta class to ask where the money came from.  I told him I found it by myself in a bag on the side of the road and that was it.  They brought my buddy into the office walked him past me, sat him down, and told him I had already snitched so he had to get out from under it.  He told them all about the car hopping and everything else.  I wanted to cry I was so mad they had tricked him into snitching but it was my idea that got us caught so I couldn't really blame him.  The girl I bought a horse for got all the money back with some of my homies, strong arming where necessary and turned it back in in a attempt to get me outta trouble but I imagine the cops just kept it.  They got it all except 500 I used to buy two ounces of weed with that started me on the hustling road I just recently ended.

TL:DR  I found a bunch of money once and was dumb and it got taken away, but it showed the people around me how I would pay back if I could and generated me tons of good will, and started my hustling career.

well, im certainly not gonna just give it to the cops.  theyd call it a forfeiture, and start following me around more.  

far as the other option, it aint a given, either.  

someone who went to the trouble of stealin a bag fulla cash isnt likely to stop short of gettin it back.  so theres that to consider.  

To answer the OP, if I found a stray hundo I'd keep it. If I found a wallet with money in it then I'd do my best to find the person. I worked at a gas station for a couple years out of high school and had quite a few dropped bills and wallets. I never kept any of it unless it was never claimed. Not because I want people to think I'm a good person but because its important to me to stick to my moral code.

Wait till you are there. Tear down day is full of ninjas that are stranded. We gave 3 a ride back in 2012 since it was only two hours to their house and it was on the way.

a pretty hard lesson to learn. make sure you got your money strapped tight.
