this is simply the natural flow of fan-artist relations.
from what I can tell, everyone loves whatever artist as long as they arent percieved as doing too well finacially. then the artist is considered “legit”.
but God forbid they turn a profit. then alot of the fans start turning on the artist. they think the artist sold out.this is the way its always gone. it all seemed to coincide with the TV documentary with martin bashir not sure if it was 60 min or dateline and howard stern….both of them were making statements about how much ICP makes per year.
it was new to me that they pull in multimillions. I had no idea. I suspect until that point your adverage ICP fan really had no idea they were doing so well. then it seemed there was alot of hate calling them sell outs and richies. I dont know if they changed as people…quite frankly they have always seemed like nice guys playing tough and dumber than they really are.
I am very happy they are doing so well and able to give us so much new material.

Juggalos have known ICP were millionaires since Milenko. They didn’t hide it in interviews or anything. But they didn’t let it effect their music or who they were either. They still rapped about fuck money. They were still rapping about fat and dead chicks even though we all knew they were pulling whatever groupies they wanted. They stayed scrubs rapping about the opposite of what’s cool. That’s what made them ICP and it was entertaining. Once they started rapping about it in their music though and taking themselves seriously, they lost touch. Maybe it’s just me but I don’t wanna hear grown men brag about their money and hotties they bang and how much they’re shining in their music. I’m not groupie so it does nothing for me. It’s just the douchiest shit. And it’s being like every other rapper. ICP were the opposite of all that. That’s when they started getting called sell outs. Who they tryin’ to impress? With this second deck they’ve tried to go back to their old ways somewhat but it’s been too corrupted for too long and the magic is long gone.
It’s not just music either. Their merch turned to cheap garbage that even they don’t wear. The custom merch quality they wear now is what juggalos used to be able to just buy. It was the norm. Look at the ‘made in china’ pendant / charms whatever they’re calling that shit now. You could find the same quality at a dollar store. That’s another sell out move selling juggalos cheaply made stuff. As far as behind the scenes goes, none of us know everything. But I don’t think it’s any coincidence the label is the worst it’s ever been and their biggest artists have left. It all goes hand in hand. The music, the merch, the artists, everything. When things were going great, everything was going great. Now it’s the opposite. I don’t think there was one moment J changed for the worst. It’s been a snowball effect that’s been going on for years. Now it’s out of control and people are actually noticing it.

I do feel kinda bad seeing everything that’s been happening though. Reading them not be able to pay their vendors puts it into perspective. I hope it can turn around for the best. It would be a shame to see it all sink no matter what I type on here. Reminds me of Down With The Clown. They’re pretty much at that point.

wow, I agree with yay yay pretty much 100% as far as the rock bottom thing gos. the good thing is the only place they can go now is back up. they wont let psychopathic fail. maybe they need to just refocus the label, remove the dead weight and actually try to build psychopathic like 98-06. they hit huge walls between 2001 and 2005 but they managed to keep trying to grow. after alex left the label, it just stagnated and now they only promote icp 100%. they don’t sign anyone. twiztid tried to get them to sign rittz. another thing, LET THE ARTISTS HAVE CREATIVE FREEDOM! oh well, j is still the business shark he was back in 94. the bigger the business the bigger the shark. alex kept him in check, billy just don’t give a fuck and makes terrible decisions. at the rate the hatchet was growing between 2002 and 2006 by now they should be twice the label they are. no real growth.

That’s right, but no one is listening. They sold out along time ago, I just didn’t want to accept it, now I do, Twiztid made the right move. It seems to have happened when J got married to that bitch….she wants half of his legacy. Just Sayin….
