I have always been fascinated with the rumor that Psy was going to kick blaze off after his first EP and Twiztid went to bat for him, saving his spot and getting him a full length album…It always struck me as odd how you can be like two seconds away from getting dropped and then later have the dude(s) that were going to drop you on your cd and make songs with them and chill like everything’s cool. Do I have the story wrong or is there something I’m missing? It’s just weird to me.
now let me finish by saying I love Blaze and I’m not throwing hate no where I’m just curious as to what happened (or is rumored to have happened)
BONUS QUESTION: what do you guys think of Blaze’s debut EP??? I thought it was cool, but nothing compares to OG 1Less G In Da Hood. That’s his best in my book.

First off it was Alex abbiss who wanted to remove blaze from the label bc he was not impressed with ep and it didn’t sell very good. Icp wanted blaze. The whole dead gangsta from the 80’s was j’s idea. and yes j did make blaze start at the bottom again bc he was always bitching about the workload and just didn’t have his heart in it. Then again that was blaze’s way of leaving psy in order to jump ship to majik records back in 02-03.

Psychopathic Records is a business. The employees all have days and moments when their passions and problems get in the way of business relationships. Just like you hating a co-worker one day over jealousy, resentment, annoyance, etc and you feeling close to taking their life. Then, you and the coworker bond over some other bullshit and all is well again. Sometimes, hopefully, depending on the grudge-holding patterns of the individuals, this stays so. Other times, it becomes a balancing act of trust, paranoia, miscommunications, trying to shrug things off, self-analyzation, defining priorities, and strength.

I loved the EP, it is close to flawless. “I Go to Work” is my favorite usually.
Happy fucking Easter.

That’s business, man. I mean most of what they rap about is fake, so how hard is it to pretend like you’re homies? I also heard that J made blaze retire and rework his way up psy, but that was j10, and even blazes homies twiztid see to hate him.
Although that interview was entertaining, I have a very hard time believing that dude.

I’m just here for the fuckin’ music man!!!
As for the EP, I haven’t really heard a lot of Blaze, only the OG Gang Rags (I got green, used to have white), but I listened to the EP, it’s good, i listened to it once, so I only remember Real G Shit. I like it. Short songs are awesome, a reason I like Esham. For his cool little short songs, My 9 Rhymes being my favorite.
