There's a couple of them. I'll be honest with ya and just say that he does sound the same in all 3 of them.

But this is what I mean when I say that he can rap if wants to. He has the first verse on this one from God's Hand and it doesn't sound anything like what I think of when I think of Bonez Dubb.

And finally, here's what he looks like without the hat and shades that have been glued to him for the past 10 years:

arent you a horrorcore fan?? all those artist are generally just as guilty, if not more-so, of simplicity.. Bonez verse on "Keeps It Movin" is probably the most lyrical one on their last album.. it might even be better than every YW verse released since..

I am a horrorcore fan. That doesn't mean I should be content to expect and accept mediocrity. I see what you're getting at though- I've said before that in the bad old days garbage horrorcore was epidemic, even among the cats who are just now gaining momentum and visiblity in the broader underground.

The difference is, with the odd exception of someone like Killa C, most of those artists have achieved some kind of noticable improvement in the quality of their music from where they started. Bonez Diddly has been established, but aside from better production and a slight tightening in style his rhymes follow the same overall template with very little deviation. This is not an unforgivable sin on it's own- Good horrorcore can succeed on strong atmosphere and interesting story telling even with underwhelming lyrics, especially if the artist makes a sincere attempt to develop a unique sound. Bone Alone's contibutions feel like an also-ran when stacked against his contemporaries. To that end it might seem like I'm rendering a harsh judgement, but as a whole AMB's musical conceit has shifted to emphasize lyricism, so that's the standard to which I hold them both. To suggest that his verse on Keeps it Moving is the pinnacle of their recent output frankly baffles me, but as Bonesaw points out, these are just opinions and there's no accounting for taste. I am legit curious how you've come to that conclusion, though.

@Bonesaw Wizardstick I agree with you about those earlier albums, for the most part. Unforgiven Forrest holds up surprisingly well for what it was. A lot of what I said earlier about good horrorcore could apply to that album, in fact. But it's not long after that you see those redundant patterns and subjects emerging, and the rhyming dictionary approach only goes so far if the rest of what makes up a song ceases to be compelling. For me, at least.

As for Bubble Dump's solo track, I kind of see what you're saying when it comes to his cadence. There's nothing wrong with the production at all, and it for sure sounds...like a rap song... On the flip side through, it plays like a checklist of every criticism I've made about his/AMB's shit in this thread. It hits literally every single mark in one song. That said, is there more of this? I might not like it, but I always listen at least once. Couldn't be any worse than Killa C's Christian rap album, I guess!

He's definitely not that great of a lyricist, but his sound is pretty good. If you listen to Unforgiven Forest, he's pretty much on par with Otis in terms of lyrics and delivery.

This is what he's been up to lately

I've heard worse. The whole spelling words to match up syllables thing is annoying, but it's pretty much whatever in my opinion.

I'd say that Unforgiven Forest shows his lyrical ability, and God's Hand proves that he can rap normally without that digital effect that is usually on his voice. I wouldn't say he's terrible, but he will inevitably get compared to Otis who is well above average.

"And you can bet your ass that Bonez is gonna spell B.O.N.E.Z and rhyme it with AMB."

Yo... Truth be told, I can't fucking stand Bonez Dubb, and shit like that is why, aside from the fact that he looks like this:

There's a noticeable improvement by leaps and bounds between Blood In and the new shit as far as Otis goes. Not so with Ol' Boney- it's more like he takes the minimum baby steps necessary to keep pace with the one who clearly got all the good genes. Without fail he applies a polysyllabic rhyme scheme that he inevitably falls back on even when attempting a change of style. At its worst his rhymes are basic on the level of a middle schooler or shits'n'giggles drunk cypher. If you can read Mother Goose you can write a Bo Dubbla verse, watch:

Ayo its B.O.N-EZ from the AMB and we be blowin' pounds of tree cuz we just too G, see

We be smokin all the dro and bustin flow so easy if you a ho I'm sayin no cuz you be much too skeezy

I'm just a Juggalo who know all the spots where the weeds be, I'm stayin breezy on my celly cuz the dope man sees me, for sheezy I'm a killa and I love my mama she needs me

I look like a bird I'm sayin word cuz she chews my food when she feeds me

Believe me

Cuz I be OT and you know me eatin beefy macaroni but mama didn't chew enough of the stuff for all the homies

Denver Colorado thats whats up but I'm outta luck cuz I'm lonely they didn't want a throw up lunch so I'm like fuck all the phonies

Dear God he fucking sucks.

In my opinion, while Young Wicked's rapping ability has gotten undeniably FANTASTIC, this has caused a direct decline in the quality of the lyrical content/subject matter. Which is completely understandable, the faster the rapping, the more lyrics you have to write. When you've got to write 2x the regular amount of lyrics...well, what the fuck are you going to talk about exactly?

Obligatory horrorcore

As a result their albums usually feel tonally uneven. On the subject of horrorcore, I feel like this is their weakest area. Otis can conjure some pretty compelling imagery and does some pretty interesting things with sound, but he also wears his influences pretty clearly on his sleeve so it's hard to take the odd attempt at something dark and atmospheric seriously when it's wrapped around track after track of generic white rapper swagger. The Unforgiven Forrest remains their strongest work, conceptually speaking, with God's Hand a close second. Somewhere along the way I think album structure and cohesiveness took a back seat to stronger production and emphasis on lyricism, with the end result being a parade of interchangeable singles. I won't call this a bad album- I've met too many people who enjoyed it- but it's appeal is for sure lost on me. I found it a chore to get through and still haven't managed a second play through end-to-end.
