glad to hear Twiztid finally speak in some more detail about the departure. I def understand their frustration because Abominationz in my opinion is prolly their best work but yet it receieved lil promotion and it was the first twiztid record that I found impossible to find here in Toronto. a group like Twiztid shouldnt have distribution problems. the MDP was easily available absolutely everywhere.

Yes! I had a very similar experience, the employee at National Record Mart (Monroeville Mall for all my Pittsburgh peoples) had to point that out. Man, what a great Halloween that was. I miss the mystery and surprise element though.

@MrSkeptik12 I know some artists bump to Monday to combat piracy, but I cant find any information on the industry as a whole changing this standard. If you could please link a source on this I'd be glad to check it out.

Here's the rub. In 2000 on Halloween there were 3 different CDs that dropped. But all had different music, you were prone to buy all 3 just to hear/have them, because they were each a different album.

In 2012 there were 2 CDs that dropped but one of them had 2 versions. By now we all know this drill, your paying full price for a few extra songs. I'm saying dropping TOS on the same day probably drew sales away from people buying both versions of Twiztids CD, underminding the entire mentality behind putting out 2 versions in the first place.

"That was an odd move. As many of you surely know, CDs are always released on Tuesdays. This is industry standard. To change the date from a Tuesday to a Monday was just plain reckless. In addition I know they didn't ship as many copies to retail outlets as they have before, because none of the stores in my area had this CD that week… and for a PSY release that was unheard of."

It was the industry that moved the release dates from Tuesday to Monday, not just Psychopathic's decision to put the albums out on Monday. Taylor Swift's Red which was probably the biggest album last year released on the same date.

i cant see how it wouldve hurt twiztids sales. any fan of psychopathic that chose 187 over abominationz probably wasnt all that likely to buy it anyway.

i assumed the ploy was more about giving 187 a lil boost.

i still havent bought either album, but i intend to get both, eventually.

I bought both because i wanted the psypher cd

But i do agree the reason they both were released on same day with the added bonus Psypher Cd was to boost Cold 187um sales.
