I guess there's no denying that it was a really bad move just by judging from the outcome and the backlash. But for the life of me I can't understand why the reception was so negative. I loved that album. Before he dropped the album I wasn't that familiar with Hutch. I knew of Above The Law but only really knew Murder Rap. I remember not really feeling him either before he dropped The Only Solution. Wasn't a fan of The Psychopathic Assassin and Where Do We Go From Here, so I didn't have high expectations for the album at all. Then i remember reading the tracklist and which beats he took and I wasn't feeling that either - some songs that I hated (like Damn Bitch) and some that were just too iconic to turn into something different (like Chicken Huntin). But then the album dropped and holy shit, imo he fucking schooled it. When I listen to that album I don't even think about the originals. And that's pretty fucking impressive.
Actually, today I listened to Suicide Hotline, which has always been one of my favorite ICP songs, and yet I had Cold 187um's L.A. stuck in my head.

I think The Only Solution has to be the most underrated album ever dropped on Psychopathic.

Sorry to derail the thread. Really hoping a Zodiac Mprint album will be released soon-ish, but not holding my breath. And I want ROC to be the sole producer of it. Seven can do some dope shit, but Zodiac belongs to ROC and Ride The Stars proved that.

Also that new Drive-By was great.

cold 187 producing some blaze. word that woulda been fresh. cold 187um should of dropped a chronic like album an psy. instead of dre beats with features from snoop, daz, kurupt, rage ect. it could of been cold 187 beats with features from icp , twiztid , blaze ,abk ect. it could of been the psychopathic version of the chronic with that original cold 187 g funk.missed oppurtunity.   

agreed...one of Psychopathic's worst decisions creatively was just having him put out an album rapping over classic Psychopathic instrumentals...then he tried to mix in storytelling and it just all felt forced and awkward as fuck lol I think the storytelling aspect would have worked better with actually original production and though Cold187 is a legend in his own right I'm not sure lyrically he was strong enough to carry a whole project with no features or anything...a Chronic-type of record with Psychopathic artists (and other West Coast cats) poppin up all over it would have been pretty fresh...unfortunately things just didn't work out

I still think it's a huge shame that Cold 187um on Psychopathic didn't last longer than it did. I wanted to see a full length album from him, him providing beats and/or hooks to others on the roster, a super group, and – getting back to the topic – I always thought it would have been super dope had he produced a g-funk album for Blaze.

I think a Young Wicked produced Blaze album would be the best option for him at the moment. I used to think YW was trash but since he joined MNE, I honestly think hes one of the most talented artists on the label.
