You made me think of the time I used to work in a grocery store and I caught some dude trying to stuff frozen fish sticks down his pants. I basically laughed at him and from the embarassment, he didn't lift them.

Also when I was a dumbass teen I tried stealing books from a library. I could've just checked them out and not return them. But I wanted to steal them. God, I was such a retard! LOL

And I agree about not stealing from mom and pop stores, or individuals whom you don't even know (mostly) I promise you tho, when it's my shit that gets jacked (and it's happened many of times)I laugh, I'm so serious. Thieving is a hustle, the art is in not getting caught. Most company's have built in losses in their budget to account for stealing, so at that point it's what you choose to do to protect your shit and if I'm willing to go thru the effort and how likely I am to get caught. Balancing these questions is the essential skill of any professional criminal. 

Side note, drinking at shows amplifys my klepto habits quite a bit, and ironically in both the instances I mentioned the money basically just paid my drinks at the bar each night...
