The fact is, a large amount of Juggalos, in this day and age at least, are trashy as fuck. It’s a large reason for why I’ve grown so disillusioned with it as of late. It’s understandable, the music appeals to scrubs. But there’s a jump between “scrub” or “floob” and “drugged out fuckhead” that I can’t get behind.

“Yeah, well, NON-JUGGALETTES smoke when they’re pregnant, too!” isn’t a proper response to this. TRASHY BITCHES smoke while pregnant, which is exactly what Juggalos and Juggalettes have gotten a reputation for being.

They’re not hating on Juggalos because they’re “unique.” They’re not making us a gang because they’re jealous they didn’t come up with the sales tactic. (Seriously, XIII, that’s just dumb, and I know you’re smarter than that.) They’re doing it because there are a large number of loudmouthed, drugged up, violent, obnoxious fucking idiots who claim Juggalo. Not all of them, obviously. It’s like anything, the loud ones make the most noise, get the most attention, and form the negative stereotypes. But it’s time to stop acting like the stereotype has no basis in reality, that REAL Juggalos are all upstanding citizens, unique and intelligent outcasts, and et cetera.

If we don’t want to be perceived as something, we need to come to terms with why we’ve gotten the reputation we have, and then work actively to change that perception, not just bitch about it and actively deny it. Hell, I know there are groups who’ve done this, Juggalos Making a Difference, Juggalo Care Package, and more. But there needs to be a lot more of that, and a lot less “FUCK U HATERS JUGGALOS AINT NO GANG ILL CUT UR NECK WOOPWOOOOP” before perceptions start to change.

If we want to stop being stereotyped as shitty people, we need to stop acting like shitty fucking people. Like it or not, when you’re smoking a cigarette while pregnant in full clown paint, you’re representing us. When you scream violent, unintelligible bullshit at anyone who says they don’t like ICP, you’re representing us. When you mug people in a park, breaking their jaws and threatening to kill them while wearing clownpaint and screaming “Whoop Whoop!”, you’re representing us. We need more people representing us in a positive manner, not more denial of the negative ones, and certainly not more excuses.

I could just as easily carry my metaphor and find a bunch of racist side-by-sides of comparisons of cartoons and black people or people that look like the racist animals they get called. And just like those groups, who says everything that comes out of them has to be empowering or positive or “help the community”?! 

Ya know, before shit like Green Day and Hot Topic came along punks goths and metal heads were every bit the things that juggalos get called. Clothing was DIY and thift store bought, as jobless or broke as any other and roamed in packs you wouldn’t wanna fuck with. 

Juggalos are now put under the gun of having to do charitable works not *just because that’s what’s in their hearts but because they feel compelled to prove they are worth more than the kind of nothing you seem to think is “spot on”.

Juggalos aren’t that unique. Suicidal Tendencies have had the ‘Cyco’s’ since the 80’s. Shitloads of other groups have similar followers since before juggalo’s. 

I’m saying that I won’t assume somebody is a trashy for being a juggalo even though most juggalos are trashy.

It’s not a contradiction it’s just saying that I won’t predetermine how I perceive a character based off of inductive reasoning. They have a fair chance to make an impression rather than being prejudged on who they are over a stupid label that gets taken way too seriously.

And no, I didn’t become a juggalo to fit in or anything. I started calling myself a juggalo because I liked the music and the style and the sort of values. Which, upon further examination, seem a little self contradicting.

And no, I did not say that the juggalos that are trashy should change their life styles, I in fact said the exact opposite of that, I said that I just don’t like hanging around those types of people.

And yes, there are parables, but comparing a few juggalos getting beat up and a few hate mongering trolls that don’t actually do anything to the genocide, segregation and enslavement caused by racism is ignorant.

On top of that, our culture is laced with that same type of hate being thrown back at people just for being rich.

Plus, I never really consider myself a juggalo anymore simply because I don’t need that title as an identity. If a juggalo can’t except me for me and I have to be laced in hatchet gear to be treated like “family” then they aren’t really worth my time now are they? The way I act, look, dress etc. is all me, you might see a slight juggalo influence but it’s all me. I’d rather be seen as an individual rather than a juggalo.

Lucem what you’re doing is a logical fallacy called: Composition and Division… Actually, you’re attempting to create a ‘Straw Man’ argument deviating from the original intent in order to start a ‘No True Scotsman’ debate that no one was having. No one even said anything about ‘real juggalos’ or mentioned a criteria as that was not the conversation at hand.
