most people dont give the australian military much credence, but thats because we dont stand up and go “OI LOOK A ME I CAN SHOOT SHIT!” and australia makes horrible tv shows so theres no NCIS: Sydney to make us look pretty.

If one thing is to be said seriously in this e-peen waving contest between chums, I do consider being called a soldier a genuine insult, I earned a title of so much more merit than “soldier” can do justice to. nah we don’t have ‘marines’ equivalent. but i suppose that is because the Aussie military doesn’t feel the need to compartmentalize every little sector of its force. 

British SAS will still shit all over seals. but like you said, we are all on the same side.

i wont apologise for calling you a soldier though. because you might be a cut above the rest of the grunts and whatever other names you got for em in any military, but its two sides of the same coin. would you prefer super soldier? because thats kinda cool you know.
