I smoked a pack a day for 12 years, quit, started again, quit, etc.  At this point I haven’t had a cigarette in 10 years and never will again.  Take it for what it’s worth, but I have a few pieces of advice:

Whatever your problem is with nicorette, nicotine lozenges, or whatever, you gotta just get over it- your reservations aren’t going to help you quit smoking.  I wound up addicted to that shit for another couple of years, which sucked and is certainly pathetic on a level but that’s what got me to quit smoking for good so whatever.  Use that shit as directed, and don’t figure that just because you’re not smoking you can go to town and chew as much nicorette as you want.  Follow the rules and stick to the program.

Cigars.  Cigars really aren’t very bad for you, since you don’t inhale.  And it’s almost impossible to stay addicted to nicotine just from smoking cigars- it takes 45 minutes at least to smoke a cigar, and they stink so bad you can’t do it inside almost anywhere.  It’s just too inconvenient.  And once you get used to it it’s much better than cigarettes anyway.  I still smoke a cigar every week or two, and doing that has no real ill effects on my health or bank account.  But that’s how I can tell you for sure that I would never smoke a cigarette again, because I would always rather just smoke a cigar instead.

Also whats up with my Daschund liking weed smoke and my pit not liking it but loving the smell (or possibly the noise of my vape)…neither one is partial to the one the other will creep all up into…My daschund will be stone cold out but if you spark up a pipe or bong he will pop up and climb onto my chest and attempt to catch smoke as you exhale.  I try to avoid him but occasionally he catches a contact…turns around exactly three times and falls back out. My vape however sends him tunneling under the covers… My pit is fascinated by my vape and also likes to be next to me while smoking it…but hates bowls and regular weed with a room leaving passion…
