Waverly was a tuberculosis hostpital back before the turn of the century. Many many thousands died in there as they didn't have a cure for it at the time. Also a few suicides most notably a lady in room 502 on the fifth floor that had hung herself. There have been reports of a girl also that has plays with a red ball. People will see the red ball rolling across the floor and it just disappeared, Ive never seen anything myself but it does have an oppressive air about it

When that happened to me i just shook the thought outta my head and tried to think about something else man. One time i saw an elongated hand print on a metal table but it wasnt there when i got on shift but some how appeared as the night went on. There would be kids talking in their sleep and all kindsa weird things kids having conversations with themselves, kids looking at u with eyes open but really theyre asleep. it was wild sometimes. Did anyone like the film adaptation of dolan's cadilac? let me know ur opinion.

Dolan's cadillac? never heard of it bro is it king? I got a question and apologize if I offend you but your a christian right? how do ghosts fit into the christian religion? I only ask because im ignorant of religion and just curious really. I know some believe in ghosts and some don't but don't know the differences between faiths. Like some christians believe in limbo etc..

I never knew they mada a movie out of Dolan's Cadillac, it's a short King story, the first one from Nightmares and Dreamscapes, and it'd good man. Good quick read, take a few hours, that's it. I was raised Catholic myself and they tell us about limbo, as far as ghosts go, they believe but talking about it is discouraged. You can easily get a priest to come by and bless your house for you, but that's about it. I t was basically told to me as a child that giving a spirit or demon "Recognition" just makes everything worse. Now, you know as well as me that that's bullshit, I knew that way back then. Just ignoring a spirit will NOT make it just move on. The way I see it, in the Catholic religion anyway, is if you're going through something like this, don't ask the Church for much help because they really just don't want to be bothered and other people in the church will think you and your family are loony tunes if the story gets out. That's a shitty way for people to act in situations like this but that's just how it is, up here anyway. I know that's not the same as Christians but maybe that helps a little./p>

I personally dont believe in ghosts but i do believe in spirits. I see it like this a person's soul either goes to heaven or hell and theres no inbetween. Some may think that a spirit and a ghost are the same but they are not a ghost by definition is some one come back from the dead and is restless and wandering but a spirit is and invisible personality that can enter a human and change its whole character. theres  good and bad spirits one could calll them angels and demons. The bible talks about mediums and says they are only talking to demons mascarading as your loved one which gors back to wut u mentioned about quija boards. When people try to contact the dead and are successful they only conjure demons becuz theres no coming back when u die. Does that help? I have never seen a ghost but ive heard things i cant explain but i have seen people in church flip out and growl and wild out when they pray for them and thats a whole other deal but really freaky.

The Dolan's Cadillac movie has christian slater in it. Its alright but i need to read the short story to make that comparison.

I haven't seen the movie but the story is really good. I've seen those people in church too, the ones who start growling and act like they're possessed. It's all fake though, they exposed those churches on 60 Minutes or some show just like it. I know what you mean though, it was freaky to watch even if it was fake.

Its really fucking weird that I don't remember that story lol. Didn't dreamscapes have that story where he is in the morgue still alive but can't move? That to me is the scariest fucking thing ever conceivable. That and being buried alive which I guess isn't much different. Gives me chills lol.

What I was tryna ask tho preachy is you were talking about your haunted experiences but you said there is no in between that spirits don't linger. How would you chalk up those experiences? Are they all demon spirits? Like we as humans are separate than angels and demons or positive and negative energies?

I didnt say those places were haunted, but they do have an uneasiness about them tho and I cant really eplain the stuff ive heard but i wouldnt call em ghosts. If u look at itthough demons have been around for way longer than the oldest person and u see the same pattern in families alot of times like u can see alcoholism in 3 generations of the family the granpa the son and the son's son all have that problem its cuz that same spirit embodies them. I will remind u though i have a vivid imagination and use it very often plus the condition of my mind in that time might not have been right because i worked nights and didnt get a lot of sleep.

Back to my imagination sometimes i will mistake things like i could see a figure sitting on my couch with a skull face just chillin as i walk to the restroom in the middle of the nite but when i pass it in the morning its just a pile of clothes i forgot to put up  and my punisher hat u know?

But thats only my expiriences and not most christians. Most christians are afraid of that kinda stuff but im not ur average christian. I do believe spirits can be transfered like when u smile and then someone else smiles or a laugh that is contagious or even to the extreme of death and hopelessness.

My wife on the other hand has seen some pretty wild stuff i really cant explain or catagorize.

I dont want to be cliche but Roland is prolly my fave dudes a freaking warrior. He gets his fingers bit off gets beat teaches others to be Gunslingers and gets mad women. He's a pimp man got all kinda play even from succubi. But i will give fat props to Eddie fighting of them thugs buttnaked i always wondered if i could do that. Would i have the drive and guts to fight for my life but naked. IDK. I like the Crimson King as far as villians and the Tik Tok Man was pretty rowdy.

I know most people dont like this but i like how He put himself in the book and played a roll in saving existance.  Blaine the Train with his crazy riddles and voices was pretty cool reminded me of flight of the navigator.

Yeah Roland is the pimp of all pimps. All the expendables rolled into one bad ass killing machine. Personally I love Eddie and Cuthbert. Their wise ass witty personalities are right up my alley. The Big Coffin Hunters were my favorite villians. Jonas was a failed gunslinger himself, and Roland was the only one to ever call em on it. I just couldn't wait for those motherfuckers to die. All the farson followers really...

One of my favorite moments in the series is the battle for the breaker compound and the gut-wrenching moments after its over. Wow really intense stuff man

Another of my favorite scenes was the battle at the Pig Restraunt. Dont remember the name of it. But that was a really good portion. My favorite thing most of all is how everything is connected in some way all those little connections is wut makes it super cool for me. To think theres something that i do that effects someone in another world and the whole alternate states of existence is great.

The Talisman is such a good book, it's awesome you're reading that, a true King classic dude. I just read The Long Walk, which is an old Bachman book I had never read. It wasn't bad, I read it in a day though. Can't wait to talk to you about The Talisman dude! Wolff!!!

I've been trying and can't remember anything about the long walk. Just that it was a "hunger games" type game nazi germany style. Like people would be killed for slowing down a few times. I might have to read that one again.

Maybe we covered this but did you read "The Running Man"? A very similar concept. The ending to the running man has always stood out as one of my favorite book endings of all time. A big fucking middle finger to the conventional endings of most novels and movies

When I read The Running man, it was after I had seen the movie about 200 times. It's a good movie, but after reading the book I was disappointed in the film adaption. Ben Richards is just about as far as you can get from Arnold Schwarzenegger. The ending of that book surprised the shit out of me, I loved it. Totally never saw that one coming. Ever notice how no Bachman book has a happy ending? The end of The Running Man is about as close as you'll get I guess. Which, if you think about it, was a happy ending in a way. Not in the traditional sense but it was definetly a fuck you to everyone that fucked with him. I would like the movie so much better with that ending. Good luck getting Hollywood to green light a project like that though.

The long walk took place in a different type of America than what we know, took me a minute to realize that. Nazi Germany is a good reference, when I was reading it though I thought he tried to portray a Russian style communist state. I kept thinking of Stalin's death squads everytime they talked about someone getting squaded. You remember the basic plot though, you got 3 warnings and after that you got your "ticket". In my opinion, while I liked the story, I found it completely unbelievable. Is it even possible to do what those boys were doing? They stayed up for 4 and a half days straight doing nothing but walking, is that even possible? And they walked an INSANE amount of distance, reminded me of Forrest Gump when he got the urge to "just start running", but even good ol' Forrest took a nap here and there. They walked from Northern Maine into Massachusetts, without a rest or even slowing down. I always suspend belief when reading fiction (especially King), but this wasn't passed off as anything supernatural. I'm just ranting, I really did enjoy the story, except for the end. I'm not even sure how to take it, it wasn't very clear. It ended very abruptly, and with a lot of unanswered questions. It reminded me of how Dean Koontz ends all his novels. But maybe that was the point, maybe he wants us to draw our own conclusions on that one.

Yes now that you mention it all the bachmans don't end in a normal way. Thinner, blaze, rage , all of them have upsetting endings. I loved all of them and believe they ended the way that they should. Running man though.... That is about as good as an ending gets. He knows the whole story that he can't win no matter what. So him crashing the plane into the building is about as happy as it could have ended. Fucking beautiful!

Full Dark, No Stars was a book chalk full of unhappy endings as well. It was nice to see him do that. I do believe in most cases good should prevail over evil in a novel, but we need a switch-up every once in awhile

So you are a koontz fan as well? What have you read of his? I have almost as many koontz as I do king. I read alot of detective fiction as well, and koontz has alot of detective novels with the supernatural thrown in the mix.

I do like Dean Koontz, I just haven't read nearly as much, I'm playing catch up with his shit. I have The Funhouse, which really isn't a Dean Koontz book. He was asked to write it before he was famous to the exact tone of the Tobe Hooper screenplay. There's a book and a movie that go hand in hand, nothing is different. I guess the movie got delayed and the book came out first, and made it to some best seller lists until the movie came out, and I guess it fell right the fuck off when people knew it was based on the screenplay. I also have Icebound, Relentless, Strangers, and Winter Moon. Icebound was an early work of his, and in the introduction or the afterword he explains how he only wrote that book for himself, just to prove he could write an action/adventure novel. It was the only book of his I didn't like, sorry Dean, that one sucked. But from what I can tell I do like Dean Koontz. I also have the 3rd and 4th Odd Thomas books, which sucks because I don't have the first 2. I bought the 4th one first and had no idea it was part of a series, and a girl I know had an extra copy of the 3rd one. People always tell me how the good they are so I don't want to read it out of order and not get the whole experience.

Bro! do yourself a favor and pick up the first odd thomas book! Excluding the dark tower characters odd is my favorite character in literature. "brother odd"  is the second one. The sequels are ok but the first one! fuckin' aye dude.

The seventh dark tower book and odd thomas have moved me like no other movie, book,tv show ever has.

I never have read any of the ones you have mentioned except strangers....That's the one about the aliens were all these people come together in a motel and they all have different powers right? Maybe im wrong, it's hard to remember plots sometimes.

After "odd thomas" i'd check out " From the corner of his eye". The villain in that book, "junior cain" is my favorite villain  out of any book I've read. Very similar to norm and jim rennies son,

But yeah i'd read the first "odd thomas" asap
