What are your thoughts?  Gambit being one of my favorite mutants I hope they do it right.  In the origins movie I wish they gave him more screen time.

And I didn't know or care that Tatum is Cajiun,  But that should help. I always thought Shia Labeouf would be Cool as Gambit.

Are you shitting me?! Ugh... I'm done.

Tatum does not have anywhere near the body type for Gambit (kinda skinny with long features). Cajun nuthin'. He needs to be more Creole. DEEP Louisiana boy...

I am SO hating everything that has been done to Marvel comics. Disney is slowly making it all grouped into little Mickey, Minnie,Donald, Goofy teams (Donald is still awesome though:). Wolverine used to be a beer swilling, cigar chomping mystery man and now he's just some dick with Freddy claws. They even managed to fuck up my love for Storm (with her badass mohawk phase). Halle Berry can suck the fattest part of my ass...

O've just abandoned these movies. Patrick Stewart is the ALL TIME PERFECT Professor X but do you think these movies have put him to best use as he slowly ages out of the role? They're so damn quick to get him out of that wheelchair now too...

Growing up a Marvel kid, it really sucks that Batman is the best thing out there. And before anyone sez anything about Iron Man (which is great) were it not for Christopher Nolan doing what he did with Batman, Hollywood would have fucked that up too just like they're fuckin' with the Xmen.

Oh for the days when Mystique was a bad guy (girl) and WORE CLOTHES... pfft...

Oh and now that they're gonna force feed Cable into the mix... woe to those that even attempt to start in with the other X teams (even though they've introduced some of them already) like XFactor or XForce....

Gah! Fuckin' Channing Tatum as Gambit? Fuck The World...

Channing Tatum has signed on to star in an X-Men spinoff centered on the character Gambit, THR has confirmed.

News that the 22 Jump Street star would tackle the role last played by Taylor Kitsch broke when X-Men producer Lauren Shuler Donner revealed the move to Total Film on the red carpet in London Monday night, where the current X-Men movie, Days of Future Past, was premiering.

Multiple sources say that Tatum will get a stand-alone spinoff, with his version of Gambit being introduced in X-Men: Apocalypse. The stand-alone film is still in development, however, and no director has been attached.

When asked what kind of an actor she was looking at to play Gambit, Shuler Donner said, "It's Channing."

Asked to elaborate on what makes Tatum right for the role, Shuler Donner said, "Well you know, he's a rogue -- Channing -- he's a rascal, just like Remy LeBeau, and he can handle the action, we all know that! And he's got a really good heart."

"He'll be great for Gambit," she added, "and he's a Southerner, too! He's not from New Orleans, but he is a Southerner, and he understands that world."

The news that one of Hollywood's most in-demand stars is joining the franchise offers a relief to the X-Men team, which has endured a difficult press tour amid sex-abuse allegations involving director Bryan Singer.

Shuler Donner told The Hollywood Reporter Saturday night at the Days of Future Past New York premiere that there was a secret movie she couldn't yet talk about.

When asked if there were other X-Men stories she's itching to tell, she simply said "yeah," but couldn't reveal further details except to hint that one secret film was in the works.

"There's one I'm really itching to tell you about but I can't," she told THR Saturday night. "You're gonna like it though. I guarantee you. It's really different, but you're going to like it."

Oh fuckin' A....

Sigh...

And let's not forget that they're gonna reboot (ie Disney-fy) the Fantastic Four and make Johnny Storm (Human Torch) a black guy despite the fact that he is Sue Storm's (Invisible Girl) BROTHER... which just leads us all down the path of anyone having a "problem" with it being called a racist 'er some shit...

I've also heard rumbling about one of my favorite lesser known titles of Cloak&Dagger being made a movie where they take out everything that has to do with them being a mixed race teaming (Cloak is black and Dagger is white) as well as the fact that they got their powers from having been homeless street junkies that were given experimental drugs by a shady dealer...

If ya'll REALLY want to see me go off on this kinda shit, hit me up on talkin' about the supposed live action AKIRA... blood boils...

I agree that Ryan Reynolds was terrible.  But Hugh Jackman was great in the 1st movie I thought.

Disney bought all of Marvel for $1,000,000,000...

You are correct that the previous FF movies were/are Fox but that's why they are "rebooting" it grants ownership. By "reworking" the story it becomes uniquely "theirs" and undoes any previous claims.

Copyright law is another thing that gets me goin' too, but that's for another time. ;)

Dude. Spiderman movies are owned by Sony sTill.  Disney bought marvel but Stan lee and sold movie rights all over the place.

So yeah Disney owns marvel and can make animated movie and comics of FF but only Fox can make real live movies.

Fox owns the x men movie rights.  But Disney can make x men comics and animated movies.

Stan Lee is smart lol

Yeah I just looked up again.  And Fox owns movie rights for x men and FF. No big deal.  But I figured I'd say it

Disney makes the movies for Avengers and shit like that.  And the guardians of the galaxy.  Plus more

And Sony has the rights to spider man and venom movies.  Plus that sinister 6 movie.

Those are all previous contractual arrangments. Just like Universal Studios theme parks doesn't have to get rid of their entire side of the park based on Marvel characters, until the contracts run out...

When the first movies were made, they already claimed the rights to 'X' amount of sequels or years of access... In fact, if you look into the legend of the Fantastic Four movies, there was an entire shitty movie made that never got released *just for the pirpose of maintaining the rights to the property. As long as SOMEthing gets made in 'X' amount of time, the rights get to be kept. If not, they are forfit to the controlling holder...

That's also why shit never becomes "public domain" anymore.

I thought the Disney made adaptions, y'know, the whole Marvel Cinematic canon, was the best of what we've got to choose from. Fox don't know what they fuck they're doing with the franchise, apparently, but I still enjoy the X-men movies for what they are. And the new Spider-Man flicks are a little disappointing after the original trilogy (they're probably on par with Spider-Man 3). The blade franchise was what, New Line or something? Either way, the MCU is fucking dope and I don't know how anyone could complain about cinematic crossovers. It's not like they didn't have team ups in the comics or anything.

As for Gambit and Tatum, I'm excited that the movie they promised years ago is finally in progress, but I'll hold off on passing judgement 'til I actually see the thing.

Now for a serious post, Batman Begins was good, i thought the Dark Knight dragged on to long but it was a decent moive, and for The Dark Knight Rises i have yet to get around to watching it. I own it, in fact i bought it when it first came out.
