Dark Escape - board game demo

Spent months completing this project.  It's fun to play with two people or solo.

Here is my small site that shows more of it: Dark Escape site

You strike me as a dungeon master who can't find anyone willing to play D&D with

this does look crazy intricate, which is a bit of a double edged sword. Like a steep learning curve but rewarding game play

Overall though it looks sick, great job!

You have done far more than most people who try to design board games. With a demo already created, you now need to work on PR. You have a basic youtube but you will most likely need much more.

Dedicated Discord, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram. People who I have seen (read about on game board design forums) develop games, also will have a development blog they setup to talk about their progress.

I would also look into Kickstarter. Like I said, you are further along than many who decide to create a new board game.

I have wanted to create a board game myself but I am horrible at the PR part. If you know someone (or if you are into it) who likes to do the social media thing, rope them in. Lack of PR (publicity) is a big reason why game dev fail. I've seen great game ideas never make it due to almost 0 publicity and have seen really silly, dumb games actually get traction due to PR alone.

You have talent. ... and the perseverance to finish (many never get to a demo prototype). I look forward to seeing where you go with it from here.  There are several RPG and board gamers on this forum. I would not be surprised if a few other people here are also interested in seeing where this goes.

Thanks Neverthrive and Psyral Infection for your props cool  Yeah I originally made it just as a solo board game I could play on my own or with friends.  It was a super fun hobby to have for those few months that I worked on it.  I've always loved being creative and coming up with artistic projects.

Now that it's done and it's a fun time, I have been casually browsing my options to see if there was anything more I could do with it. Thanks for the advice Psyral Infection, on doing more with it in social media.  I suck at that too, which is why my game probably won't go anywhere.  Oh well.  I'll keep looking.

Lastly, Neverthrive, my main intention for this game was basically to make a simplified version of D&D, but still with a TON of content.  Notice, you don't have to make any notes or write anything at all, unlike most other table top board games?  The movement on the board is simple to understand, just with dice, the battle is straight to the point using battle dice (roll, you hit, or the enemy hits, there's a chance you can break your weapon or armor during your dice roll), items/equipment/stats are simple to use, just equip it on your equipment board, adjust your stats on your level up/stats board.  The game takes up a lot of space when played, but it is simple to pick up and start.

I'll just say, I've even picked up Gloomhaven (expensive, but insane board game) and it's just so complicated, I had trouble really getting into it.

I have gloomhaven jaws of the lion (supposed to be more simple, condensed, and thus cheaper) but my friend group hasn't gotten together much this year so I haven't really busted it out, but yeah man, even this more noob friendly package looks mad complex.
