I work in video primarily but I'm also working in mixed media and digital imaging.

Here's some examples of my work.

Laconic Hymns video art piece.

As you can see, my work isn't exactly aesthetic driven. It tends to be more about energy and thoughts. I'm still learning and would love any kind of feedback you guys can give. The video was part of an honors class where I got to create my own project from scratch and it was on display in a local small museum for a month or so. The Tech glitch isn't photoshopped. I went in and broke the code of the original image and then simply layered the new image over the old.

ETA the video embedding didn't work and the FAQ post video on how to insert videos doesn't work so... yeah. follow the link. (Theres more in my sig, too).

I find your work dope My beef thdigitalt is a chance to be a lot easier than if you were trying to do it with a pencil pen or colored pencil or paintBut at the same time is actually more complicated than it is to do natural art because you're trying to do that via computer But on the other hand you have an entire color palette to your disposal and you don't have to pay for the shitBut regardless art is art and it is beautiful so kudos to you I would like you to possibly check out some of my work on Facebook it is mt that is WickedXombieArt

a lot of people have the same beef as you do with regards to digital art. I don't really understand the argument though because art is about taking something and making something new. With digital art, it's information (digital information) and with analog arts it's raw materials. I work in both because I enjoy manipulating both. There's different challenges and different ways of thinking.

The Tech N9ne piece, for example, I took the photograph of tech's and copied it so I had two identical pictures. Then, in one of them, I fucked up the code of the file, and the finally opened them both in gimp and layered them together.

All art is problem solving and figuring out how to get something out of something else.

I liked your page and shared your lost piece on my juggaLGBT page. Good luck with it. If you're entering the art contest at the gathering, hit me up. Mine will be the weird shit. lol.

Thanks! That's so kind of you. I really appreciate it.

If you could tell me more about your thoughts on Laconic Hymns, I'd appreciate it. Any thoughts at all. Even ones that might sound negative. I'm doing more video work very soon and feedback will help. The video i'm doing is going to be specifically for trying to get into my next level of schooling so I need all the help I can get!

@robtidwell , I have never understood art from an artistic standpoint but this is good enough to be on something like Adult Swim's "Off The Air".

I wouldn't change anything based on my suggestions since I am not an artist but I'm wondering how it would look if the black background did something like either have the viewports alter size through the video or change color or it's own animation. Probably be too busy then. Maybe just different frames to the viewport... like one being a window and another a closet door and another an eyeball and another a keyhole etc... Just me pondering what it would be.

Anyway, Good work.

Oh, and to embed a video from youtube, just click the "Share" button below the video on the youtube page and copy/paste the link directly into the post window. The forum will do the rest and make it work.

Thanks for your help with the videos. I kept trying to use the youtube link button and it wasn't working. That's a big help.

I was trying to mimiic the salon style of hanging that some galleries use for paintings and frames, man, frames makes a lot of sense. I think if I had included them that would make it resemble that a lot more, and then if I did anything in the black space it wouldn't feel so dead. Great observation!

And I really gotta check out off the air. A few people have said that! thanks again.

Thanks!

What would a FLH mountrushmore look like?

There's an art game called exquisite corpse that is collaborative. The first person starts a piece and then covers all but the edge of the piece, and the next person continues from that edge on and then covers their piece except for the new edge, and passes it to another, and then another, like the following pics (which are not mine).

I'd be down to do something like that with the other artists around here.

some more of my work just because.

Image Enlarger

A 4 inch by 4 inch collage called 17 Butterflies for an exhibition at my school.

Image Enlarger

I called this mi dulce carnicería which is spanish for "my sweet carnage". My friend does paper paintings like this and I watched to try out her style, her name is Dulce so I wanted to include it.

Image Enlarger

I made this as a cover for the album but my computer died and there wasn't time to make an alternate cover which was probably a large reason why insane poetry's album cover was just the words.

My stop motion piece called the Island. I want to make more stuff with stop motion. It was a lot of fun.
