Long-time wrestling legend and Juggalo homie Vampiro announced that he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s a few years ago, and that he planned on doing a final run of a few dozen matches over the course of about three years.
While this was the goal, a few head shots that landed him in the hospital multiple times forced him to rethink that decision. At 55 years old, he thinks he may have two more big matches in him, and then he’ll call it a career.
Vampiro has had success outside the ring with TV, a podcast, music, and more!

This sucks man. Hard to see someone who gave you so many years of entertainment go down like this. These illnesses don’t discriminate but it sucks non the less. I remember going to a WCW show in like 2000 and I was right at the bottom of the entrance ramp. I had on a bootleg “fire house” ICP T-shirt. He noticed me during his entrance and pointed at my shirt, then on the way out he stopped to give me a dap. Seemed like a good dude.
