Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Icon Jason David Frank Died Age 49 *UPDATED*

There are many Juggalos who grew up/watched the 1990’s  American Tokusatsu massive hit TV series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Even Jamie Madrox of Twiztid has proclaimed that he’s a fan. Sadly, tragedy has struck within the Tokusatsu fan-base. As it has been fully confirmed by various publications that the Green/White Ranger icon known as  Jason David Frank has died at age 49, due to suicide. JDF portrayed Tommy Oliver inside 6 seasons of Power Rangers as a main character. And returned for the 10th, 20th, and 25th anniversary specials of Power Rangers, respectfully. Mr. Frank even appeared in 3 theatrically released live action Power Rangers films between 1995, 1997, and 2017.

Jason David Frank was briefly written out of the show to never return in 1993 because Toei ran out of Green Ranger Super Sentai footage acquired from 1992’s Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger. The character leaving lead to real life children starving themselves, sad that their new favorite MMPR character was gone. Which then lead to parents personally calling Fox and Saban for them to bring back their children’s favorite ranger. And boom, Tommy Oliver swiftly returned as the Green Ranger during the Winter of 1994, season one double episode, “Return of an Old Friend” Part 1 and 2 ( forty-ninth & fiftieth episodes).

While still portraying Tommy Oliver in 1994, JDF brilliantly created his own martial arts style, Toso Kune Do. It was a blend of styles including Shotokan, Taekwondo, Wing Chun and Jeet Kune Do. After leaving his full time Power Rangers role in 1997 (until 2004’s Dino Thunder), Frank founded the Rising Sun Karate Academy to teach martial arts to others. And continued to dabble in a variety of mixed martial arts through out the rest of his life. The 1990’s sure were wild. We here at Faygoluvers.net want to send our deepest, sincerest, condolences to all of Jason David Frank’s family, friends, and fans. Another tragic reminder to reach out to your loved one’s, because you never know what they’re truly going through in regards to mental health. Once a ranger, always a ranger. RIP

Well as long as Jamie Madrox proclaims to be a fan, I can rest assured all is well and holy in this world. Thank God for that.

But RIP JDF. He always was the most bad ass ranger.
