I’m just gonna put this out here but Monstar is not the label to be signing to. Where is the money coming from? How is it even working? The promo is gonna fucking suck.

Imagine being the guys who used to be on psychopathic records and made one album, signing with the record label that’s run by the guy who used to be on psychopathic records and made one album, alongside your labelmate, the guy who used to be on psychopathic records and made no albums.

When I just read the headline of this story, before I even clicked on to read the whole thing, the points you just made, legit came to mind as I started reading this. This is all interesting for various reasons.
Record labels in general are dying out. More and more and more artists are just publishing their work themselves now, bc we’ll w the state of tech today, you can do most of this stuff yourself, as the option has been gaining popularity. Even mainstream stars end up starting their own label and just do it themselves. But yeah, I too am curious where the money is coming from to sign these artists, coming from a guy that didn’t even drop a full album during his time of his 1st substantial record deal.

Born dead 12.5 … in stores in about 5 years or so. This shit is getting so played out. I assume that’s the end of the pjb and icp friendship?

What’s with the negativety? Props to PB, props to Lyte an Monstar. Psy can’t be around forever and be the “be all end all” yall. Motherfuckers got bills to pay and if these camps collaborating in this way helps them each succeed in that regard, then wtf are we talking about…

These guys have been hustlin for a way long time. I don’t find them to be talented and think that lyte could have done much better. I like some of lyte’s shit but i can only take so much of his whiney voice before i have to change the song. Props to him and his new company for the hustle but i don’t think this will go anywhere. Just my thoughts

Not negative but realistic. Looking at this logically, do these guys really need the help of a guy who has zero clout in the industry? As artists who only need promotion (because they already have a name in their niche and a history behind them), if they’re signing to a label, Monstar is the wrong kind of label for them. What they need is a label run by people who can push them out of their niche and expose them to more of an audience. Monstar is going to do exactly what PJB could do all by themselves and take a percentage of the profits. It just makes no sense. Nothing against small labels at all but I’d be embarrassed if I was PJB and I was signing to this label. And that’s not hate. That’s just logic.

Project Born should just give up the ghost…

Lyte should have been wise enough to see their history and just let them slip off into the sweet silent night.

Horrorcore is dead, isn’t it? Except for A.X.E, I’ve seen nothing but dead on arrivals for the last 15 years. Lo-Key was cool for a minute back in 2008ish, I thought he had a future, but alas…nothing came of him.

Oh well, at least we have A.X.E, their Lovecraftian lore and image is very well executed. You can tell they did their research and they have quite a bit of writing talent between them.

Pjb was cool when I was a kid, but they just dont do anything thats hella dope or interesting. Tbh I’m kind of shocked they still get coverage bc I’m like, wtf do they do? But they’re under Lyte now, so skys the limit. Rackin up gold’s n plats in no time.
