Rating: “****” (Excellent/Good). Yes, it’s true; I’m a fan of Ouija’s. So why didn’t I give this video a five-star (Dope/Sic), six-star (Fire/Flames) or a seven-star (Magnificent/Legend) rating?
As a song, it’s got the makings of a good album cut. A good third or fourth single from a CD; not hard-hittin’ but by no means soft. Still, I can’t help but notice other tracks on his CD album “Dirtbag” more worthy of a video. But this song was chosen.
Now, they’ve done a good video for it; a touch of sillyness, a little gore and some comedy; all of which helps the song tell the story. Great job, but we’ve seen better from him. Twice, I wondered how many people would watch only so much of it before moving on and not because of the video, but because the song itself doesn’t keep you interested very long.
I’m still a fan, and I thought he put on an amazing performance at the Gathering Of The Juggalos one week ago. But honestly, a great video with a So-So song still yields the same result as a So-So video with a great song: Midpack. Grade: B+ 🐰
