We’re officially less than a week away from hearing the latest full-length LP from the demented duo: Twiztid!
That’s right, Generation Nightmare drops on April 26th, and while we’ve heard a handful of tracks so far, it’s still hard to get a grasp of what the entire album will sound like…until now!
Just minutes ago, a sampler for the album was sent out to those who are a part of MNE’s e-mail list! If you aren’t, or haven’t seen the email yet, then we’re gonna hook you up anyways! Check out the 4-1/2 minute sampler for Generation Nightmare:
If you haven’t pre-ordered yours yet, you can always get the physical copies at MNEstore.com! For you digital ninjas, just search for Generation Nightmare on Spotify, iTunes, Google Play, or whatever your preference is!

Straight up, ima say this: aside from W.I.C.K.E.D., I don’t really think that any of Twiztid’s albums have an overarching “theme”, per se. And I don’t see that as a bad thing. I tend to look at them as a collection of songs, the best material that came to their minds while in those recording sessions. The main reason you could argue “oh that sounds like it could be on Freek Show or Man’s Myth” or whatever is mostly based on production, I think. All of what I heard in that sampler is fairly unique from one another, and I’m fine with that. It’s not like a Joker Card that generally centers around a specific character or mood. Hell, I’m one of the seemingly few people who LOVED the track “I Got These Feelings” from their last LP, and that doesn’t sound like anything they’ve done before, but that entire album is all over the place and in my opinion that’s a strong point for it because there’s something for everyone on it. That said, I’m really looking forward to this album; that track that played after “living @ the bottom” stood out to me a lot. And one thing I did notice is that the songs that are rock-based are way heavier that anything they’ve done before (aside from the remixed Mutant album). Go big or go home, I guess.

I think it sounds good from the tracks they released so far. The production has made a difference, and I also beleive that doing stuff with Davey Suicide’s band has helped with allowing them to do a bit more. I kinda want to see a whole band thing again live. I was there at the Welcome To The Underground Tour when they had chick on the keyboard, Draven on drums and other dude on guitar. It was a good turn but then they stopped for whatever reason. I do know it costs more money to have a band, which is why Kung Fu Vampire stopped bringing a whole bad ass entourage with him. W.I.C.K.E.D. has so far been their best, to me, and I feel this album will be in competition with it and good listen.

H&H wasnt half bad. I didnt like every track but the sound quality was good. Idk why people thought it was victim shit, PSA talks about a kid who killed himself and Twiztid talked sbout how theyd kill the fools bullying the kid if that was them.

Pick a style for your album. This is why I dont have my iPod on shuffle. No one needs to be listening to Warren G then the next track is comes on and it’s Slipknot. Maybe I’m wrong though and maybe people do like that shit.

I actually prefer the genre shuffle. I like not knowing whats going to play next, but since the playlist holds songs I like and put there, I know ima dig it. I will have The Casualties and then Lower Class Brats, to Young Wicked and ICP to Tech N9ne and Epica, Scar Symetry and CombiChrist.

@Noawareness you nailed it man i think this is what happens when you dont have J guiding them. Its fairly obvious at this point that they’re trying to appeal to the rock crowd which is fine but when you’re a hip hop group doing this shit you’re gonna get backlash from you’re core fan base

I just think they spread themselves too thin. Do a hip hop project then do a rock project. I’m not against introducing different instruments and breaks into songs or the odd song on an album (Darkness on The Green Book) but this is too much of a paradigm shift. Another album of individual track, instead of a complete, well rounded project. Just my opinion though. Wtf do I know?

Idk If this sampler was in order of the tracklist. I think it would be cool if the first half was Hip Hop, and then the other was more Rock/Metal, or vice versa.

@juggalotus42000: they are trying to distance themselves from their “core fanbase” which is why they’ve been doing what they have the last 4 years. They’re focusing on a different demograph. And I hate to say it, but this sampler does not intrigue me enough to want to buy this album.

FFF has its own unique sound. I thought it was a dope ass Joker’s Card. From what I hear on Generation Nightmare, the production value is way more crispy than I expected. Crispier than fried hawt chicken.

This album will def have some sick ass tracks, but it will also have some rock shit that I don’t like necessarily, especially when Twiztid does it. As far as genre jumping on a playlist, that fits my style. I’ll be listening to Sean P and the next song will be Freezepop or hell even Reverend Horton heat and then Thirstin Howl the 3rd and back to some revocation or cannibal corpse. But I don’t go to ONE band for all those genres. Twiztid are some of my favorite “horror” rappers but I am not a fan of their rock style AT ALL. sounds so cheesy and forced.
