As stated in a previous post, this show was humorous and memorable for various reasons. I called the club a few hours before doors to find out who the openers were, and when Swollen should be taking the stage, and the guy who answered the phone literally tried to convince me not to show up for the openers lol. He said I definitely had never heard of them.He told me Swollen should be taking the stage around 11:30 pm. That is when I decided to arrive for the show, I chatted with the ticket guy for a sec when I got there and he commented that I should be glad I didn't see any of the openers lol. I snapped a few shots of the Battle Axe Warriors/crowd in attendance before Swollen took the stage-

It should be noted the crowd on this night was very small. As Madchild commented in the middle of the show, "they might as well be playing someone's Birthday party" lol. I asked the bartender what the reason was for no merch on sale and he told me the owners of the Rockpile club had flown Swollen out from Vancouver for the specific reason of being the first big Hip Hop show at their newly opened Rockpile East club, which was the second show here in Toronto the following night. Swollen brought a bit of merch but it was all being saved for the 2nd show. Think it was safe to say the first night was not the priority for the club and may have been under promoted. When Madchild took the stage his way of hyping up the crowd was saying and I quote," Man this is gonna be fuckin intimate! Tomorrow night is gonna be the shit though! Hope you are all there tomorrow night! Anyway fuck it lets do this!" lol. Here are some shots of Prevail, Rob the Viking, and Madchild as they took the stage-

Now you could tell it had been a minute since the group had been on stage together. Madchild forgot lyrics a few times, and even did his verse in the wrong spots of a few songs. One time when he rapped when it was Prevail's turn,during "Bring It Home" I think, Prevail responded by jumping into the crowd and moshing with us, while letting Madchild finish the song. Madchild admitted to us he'd been so busy with his solo shit recently, that this show was definitely good practice for him. They even did "Bring me down" twice in row because Madchild was "really feelin it" and "thought it should have been a bigger hit". One of the funnier moments of the night was after Madchild performed the track "Dickhead". He informed us all that he had broke up with his sweetheart, and was now a "Dickhead" again while out on tour.lol. He then revised that statement and said he makes "friends" now, he's really not that big of dick. Prevail and Rob seemed to find this speech amusing.

The guys were really loose and having fun on stage, they even took requests at the end of the show. When I yelled out "Lady Venom" Madchild responded to me by saying "we can do that" and Rob immediately dropped the beat to the song and they kicked it, HUGE THRILL FOR THIS NINJA!! 
Here are a few more shots of Swollen's set, including a crowd shot with a chick who was in a wheelchair, but as getting way more hype than most people in there which I thought was way fresh

Nice find PRJ. That footage is from the 2nd show on the east side. I'll throw up some photos and a mini review of that in a few hours.I think you'll appreciate the pic I snapped outside that night , Swollen can now cross sharing a marquee with Molly Hatchet off their bucket list lol-

Swollen posting video of the whole second show killed my motivation to throw up my photos, everyone can just watch the whole show on youtube now. I also gotta shitload of Twiztid photos from the Canadian tour I haven't posted yet, so busy with work right now haven't found the time to post much. Cool to see Madchild and Swollen grinding hard all through the holidays!

I wanted to rewatch that second show on youtube, and unfortunately it looks like it got pulled down.
I wonder if Subnoize/Madchild did a copywrite strike on their content on there at some point....

Madchild and Merk are buddies from what I remember, they perform on different nights anyways.
Did you cop the 2 Alpha Omega EPs? They are a good tie-over until Swollen puts out some new shit.
Rob the Viking,Prevail, and Neph brought the thunder on those.?

Dope, did you suggest they do a set of material only from their two seminal lps too bc that's an extra nice. SM retro set and ICP retro set back to back. Enjoy SM is on my bucket list of artists I need to see live and meet
