I've definitely seen J not looking so good in public appearances (the re-launch of PSY radio comes to mind) and was looking out for that, but I was struck by exactly the opposite at the seminar- he seemed in a good mood and completely on top of shit.

Maybe i shouldn't have said "doped out of his mind" but for sure "relying on painkillers" hopefully his surgery goes well and he can drop some weight and get back into form. Again i'm not hating I have alot of respect for the man! I was just wondering if anyone else noticed he seemed to be fucked up on painkillers, it's understandable after all the abuse he's done to his body.

I took a spin class and a swimming class last year and gained 50lbs despite eating less and exercising more. So, you know, thanks for the advice but you're wrong.
In case you haven't given up on your health (you straight up told me at the Gathering that you ate poorly) here's a graphic of key nutritional issues from the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) and a link to the California Obesity Prevention Plan. Seems eating less may not be enough; they suggest specifics (e.g. less sugary drinks and energy-dense foods, more vegetables & fruits, etc.) Enjoy the science. Or not.

Yeah, I go back and forth. Sometimes I care and I try and other times I don't. Thanks for the list though.

Lipo is always an optionSo is amputation.
I've lost about 30 pounds this past year by drinking less pop and drinking a gallon of water a day. I want to hit the gym though because I want to build muscle.
Drinking more water was a huge help to me, though, and it makes me feel a lot better. Just buy a gallon jug from Walmart or somewhere and carry it around with you everywhere.

I have never had trouble losing weight. It's simple no matter what your body type or metabolism is. Just eat less and exercise more. It can't get more simple than that.Eating less can actually cause you to gain weight.
When you're as big as I am, or j, it can be really, really difficult to lose weight. If you don't consume enough calories, your body goes into fat storage mode and you start to feel run down.
You gotta eat the right kinds of foods, not eat less. And when you're as fat as I am, often times the weight is connected to mental health issues and it's clear that j's is as well. So we become emotional, frustrated, self loathing and tired when we "eat less and exercise more". And then we gain weight on top of it.
I took a spin class and a swimming class last year and gained 50lbs despite eating less and exercising more. So, you know, thanks for the advice but you're wrong.
It was really human of j to talk about his frustration and insecurities and as a fat dude I really appreciated it. If you've been north of 300lbs and we're able to lose it, that's cool. But it's not something easily done for many of us.
Are you retatded or what? If you're eating at a caloric deficit it's impossible to gain weight. You were probably sneaking in snacks and shit as fatties tend to do. If you're committed to losing weight you'll make it happen. I was 265 in January and now I'm 180(gonna go to 160 then start bulking to gain muscle mass).
But yeah man stop spouting bull shit.

It is true that your body does go into a sort of surviva mode. It involves synapses, endorphins, coetisol and a bunch of other shit I am too lazy to re-research right now. There is a sprt of withdrawal period when trying to lose weight, just like trying to kick anything that gives you pleasure or comfort, from opiates to internet porn to gambling. But after that insane first rough patch, if you survive it, then it is supposed to become easier to handle eating healthy, or abstaining from cigs, rape or whatever it is you were addicted to.

they say there is a general 72 hour rule when it comes to withdraw, so in most cases if you can get over that tree day hump it's all down hill from there...
