i wouldnt at all call it a 'non-juggalo' thing to do.

wouldnt even say that about a full-on hound dog.  from what ive seen, hound doggin is a very juggalo thing to do.

  awfully paranoid, arent you?

My gf got me a Tech N9ne VIP package for my birthday a coupe of years ago, it was pretty cool. Hung with tech and them, got a copy of Ces Cru's the Playground, and it comes with a shitload of merch. If ICP/Psy put more actual merch into the VIP like strange did, I bet a shitload more people would do it.

I'll jump in on this one.  Twiztid's management invited me do the VIP with them for Fright Fest, and I have done it for two other times with them.  I don't think it's a matter of how many VIP tickets are sold, but rather what the venue's accommodations are. For one of the Kaos & Kronik tour in Dallas, they had it in the venue so they could do a quick seminar before the meet & greet.  I took footage of that and for some reason uploaded to vimeo. You can see it here:

I think that was one of the better ones because of the seminar.  I also did the Abominationz one, and the only reason that sucked is because they did it upstairs at the venue DURING the show, so we missed all of (hed)p.e. and most of Lil Wyte's set. Twiztid and blaze took the time to meet, sign things, and say what up to everyone who took part in the VIP.  For AbominationZ, we all got onstage during LDLHA-IBCSYWA which was pretty dope too.

For Fright Fest, they did their VIP on the bus, which was another cool experience.  The line was around the block for it though, which I guess you could expect for Fright Fest being that ninjas travel from all over to see that and Hallowicked in a span of two days.  They also did this one during the show, which I think sucks.  If I had a gripe about Twiztid's VIP, that would be it.

For ICP, the only VIP package I have taken part of was for Hallowicked in Detroit.  If you thought Fright Fest's was crowded, holy shit, this was ridiculous!  They must have not set a limit for VIPs for that show, because I would bet half of the Hallowicked attendees were in line for it. This one was more like a cattle call. You stood in line (during the show again), waited to go say what's up to J and Shaggy for maybe 20-30 seconds, got your picture taken, and were whisked away back into the crowd.  One of the benefits to doing VIP is to get onstage during Faygo Armageddon.  With that many people taking part, and being towards the back of the line, the Faygo Armageddon was about 90% over by the time I got onstage.  It was fun for the couple of minutes that it lasted, but I think I had one or two Faygos that I sprayed at that point.  Again, this was for Hallowicked, so I can't say that it would be like this at your local stop.  Hopefully they limit VIP packages in each town after experiences like this.

So let me wrap things up.  I have only paid for VIP once (and that was for my wife) during Twiztid's Kaos and Kronik tour.  Luckily, I've had multiple times to experience it, so I can relay some of the ins and outs to you.  If I had to pay for it, I don't think that I would.  I don't care about the autographs at this point, but pics are always cool.  If you've never experienced it yourself, I think once is enough.  If they started doing the VIP packages before the shows started again (like Tech), then I may reconsider.  If talking to an artist for a few minutes, getting a picture, and getting onstage is worth $100 to you (because face it...the merch you get with ICP and Twiztid's VIP are pretty weak), then I say go for it.  If not, then don't hold it against ninjas who want to, and have the means.  That just makes you look bitter.

I will also echo @piggofdoom's statement. Strange's VIP packages are definitely superior. They are like $175 at this point for a Tech show, but you get a shitload of merch, and the VIP experience BEFORE the show.  I can't justify spending that much, even if just for the merch at this point, but I know they are always packed.

Strange also includes a ticket to the show, i believe. Where as ICP and Twiztid do not.

Edit: Yes, they do include tickets.

I've gotten on stage plenty of times in the past so its nothing really new to me. I'll be doing the VIP for this tour coming up but thats really only cause my friend wants to do it. My momma ain't paying for shit so. I've met them all before so its whatever. I'll have fun during faygo armageddon though.

I will say this: if some suckers paying $100+ticket makes other costs go down... that's cool!  Like, I noticed ever since VIP showed up, CDs dropped from $15-19 to about $5-9.  So, yeah, that's a pretty sweet byproduct.

Some of that had to do with the market value of CDs in general, I'm sure, but that'd only account for a $3-5 drop, so the VIPs probably account for the rest, and that's hella awesome.  Does ICP give a $15-20 in merch cash certificate usable for the gig?  I think I heard of some other artists doing that, might be worth it in the end.  I mean, you use that to get them to the merch booth to redeem the certificate and then they see a couple things they want and boom, you got them hooked for a $20-50 purchase even after subtracting the aforementioned $15-20 in merch cash.  Is it Strange Music that does that?

I'm the neck cutta and I'm one block away...

It's a formula of diminishing returns.

Oh, I was just referring to dropping prices increasing profits till it hits the diminishing returns point.

I don't think VIP sales factor into production costs of CD's but it may, as you speculated, be a deciding factor in reducing the sales price of CD's since the reduced profit per unit may be made up for in the added revenue from VIP.

Id love to see how you calculated 80 cds for 100 bucks....did you think think they only make 1 dollar a cd?  thats a horrible profit margin.

As I just got old enough recently to go to ICP concerts finally (my parents would never take me to see them), it sucks to have to pay for the V.I.P being I never knew what it was like when shit didn't cost so much, but it depends, the Great Milenko show V.I.P was good, but the Hallowicked from last year sucked. They are real pushy too to get you in and out, but make you wait a long time just to see them and get told to get a move on, plus at the Milenko show J didn't even want to talk or sign when I came through, definitely not doing V.I.P again unless I turn rich through some sort of miracle. I'm still waiting to afford a Twiztid V.I.P though, now those two are some personable motherfuckers, met them at the Gathering for the first time, I think I'd rather spend the money for them because it seems as they always offer more on their packages too.

We met Twiztid at an instore for the End of Days tour right when me and my girl metup.  She sat in the half hour line with me and some homies just to take pics (it was her first show) and by the end of it all she said "those are some grateful artists...they really seemed to appreciate you guys"  Jamie and Paul were accommodating enough to sign shit for my brother who wasn't there to him specifically and take an extra pic of just them signed to him."  Needless to say her wig was split when she saw the show that night...shes been a lette ever since...

They have so much energy too, they talk to us fans more than we talk to them, and they hit on my girlfriend. Definitely made the wait to meet them so much better than it was.

Twiztid needs that money more than ICP.

I did the American Psycho VIP. Techs Hostile takeover VIP. I did each one time and wouldn't pay that much again. Although I think Techs VIP is better cuz of all the shit they give you. ICP VIP bone was waiting in line to meet ICP while the fucking show is happening, missing most of it is lame as fuck.Hopefully they changed that shit up. Faygo Armegeddon is the shit but back in the day was better when we could just rush up on stage at the end of the show for FREE!!!.Good times!!
