That's an interesting ranking there.

Pecking order and you're below the worms in the dirt.

Classic

1. Tales From the Lotus Pod

A Psychopathic classic, no doubt about it.

Great

2. Black Rain

To be fair, this is totally biased, since I look back at the 2004-2006 era very nostalgically. It was actually a big drop off from the first album, but I still enjoy it and affiliate it with the good times I had when it came out.

Alright

3. The Opaque Brotherhood

Opposite end of the spectrum here, 2008 is basically around the time I felt Psychopathic had officially fallen off. There's some good stuff here, but for whatever reason none of it really grabs me.

Bad

4. The Mud, Water, Air, and Blood

An album that sounds like a group of guys out of ideas. I will say the first half (which has some alright moments) is a lot better than the second half (which is just bad).

I'm not gonna try to rank them right now because honestly with the new album just coming out it'll take a while before I can really decide where I place it with the others...really enjoy it though

that being said I don't get all the hate for Black Rain...sure its a bit more lighthearted compared to Tales From The Lotus Pod but I still think it had plenty of darker songs as well...Doornail Dorothy isn't that bad either...mostly everyone killed their verses if anything my least favorite song would be That's Me although I really enjoyed all the songs on there

Tales is very dark but also has some minor flaws...Mars is okay on some of it but a lot of the times he just sounds fucking stupid and out of place...but still sounds better than the terrible, thrown together job they did on inserting new ABK vocals in the rereleased version...had it been mixed better I wouldn't have minded it and would probably listen to it more than the Mars version but shit like that gets to me...otherwise Tales is great though very dark, weird, sinister shit...even the humor is completely dark and fucked up

I find more flaws with Opaque Brotherhood tbh...there's some great shit on there but there's also plenty of times where it seemed like a few of the artists (namely Shaggy and Blaze) got offbeat and took away from the songs as a whole...take Shaggy's verse on "Falling" where it sounds like he's trying his best to keep up...never liked Blaze's verse on "Withered" either...its definitely has an overall darker feel than Black Rain does...also the mixing on some tracks annoys me..on the title track Madrox's verse at the end is just cut off rather than fading out into J's verse right after...little things I know but as someone who listens to a lot of music you kind of pick up on those little things from time to time

I do wish they had put out some bonus songs with this new album like they did with Opaque though

black rain gets hate I think because it followed Tales and it didn't live up to their/my preconceived notions, as tales was such a great record..just wasnt as good as tales. Both opaque and new shit have their faults but they are great  in their own ways too. I also hope they come out with bonus shit for new album like they did with opaque.Be dope.

I for one really like the Black Rain production especially...the beats have a grungy feel to them throughout and The Walls is just chill as fuck...but yeah I can see why as a follow up to Lotus it'd be disappointing...Violent J was still going through that diamonds phase a bit too I think and didn't really want to go all the way back to his mentality during TFTLP because let's be honest he was fucked up back then lol...Opaque has a much darker sound in the production and overall which I do like...those sound effects on the chorus of Follow The Leader that sounds like a weird alarm going off as well as the sand blowing effects on Black Sand...I just feel like it was sloppy in some places and had it been a bit better in those areas it would be right up there with Tales easily

also anyone else agree that it would have been cool to hear Tech N9ne on this new Lotus album...I know they aren't really about guest appearances and whatnot (ABK was a former member) but Tech would have sounded great on a few of these joints especially 45 Minutes, Death in a Jar, and Coagulate

I really love the darkness on opaque too but felt a few of the songs like black sand, hot poison, witch trapped in this song, keep up, just didnt work very well. The others are all on point.I would like to hear Tech on anything really..

how yall gonna rank the new album yet? I gotta give it a few months and see if its still in my rotation. As of right now, this album has me more excited for the wicked shit than I have been since W.I.C.K.E.D came out. Strangely it was a reminder of why I love the shit in the first place. I hadn't realized how apathetic I was becoming to psychopathics shit. Best album they have put out in years if you ask me

@Slum you gotta give it a few months but that's because you're at the bottom of the pecking order. It doesn't take two months to listen to an album 20 times it takes less than a week. So how are you not gonna listen and rank the new album in less than a week?

Pecking order and you're below the worms in the dirt.

How many times I hear it isn't the only factor. You have to add time there. Everything is a little bit better when it's brand new.....except herpes..... Mr. fucking popo aka regular forum member in disguise.
